When Cal beats USC this weekend Aaron Rodgers will be in a dead heat with Kyle Orton. IMO Purdue and Cal have a great chance of going undefeated this year.
Purdue has a five game stretch that will be pretty tough in the big Ten. If they get through Wisconsin, Michigan, Northwestern, Iowa and Ohio State then that will be an accomplishment. They will be battered and bruised. Then the last game should be a gimme with Indiana for them. I think they will slip up somewhere but if they get through that schedule they will be something.

Purdues defense is ok but not great. If somehow someway any of these teams find a way to rattle or slow down Orton then they have a great chance. They are beatable.

Has anyone seen Adrian Peterson run .... whew he is smooth. Just glides. He is a special runningback.

Heisman Race

After Adrian Peterson put up more incredible numbers today (32 carries for 245 yards) I am now convinced a QB will win the award.

The voters wont give it to a Frosh and an award to any other RB would invite comparisons that could not be defended.

I don't think Peterson is worthy of the Heisman either this year. He hasn't faced any adversity yet. I think next year, if he can prove he's just as good of a runner with a new QB and O-Line, he'll be the first sophmore to receive the award.

What if that RB is also a great receiver and return man? Reggie Bush is putting on a show against WSU right now - the punt return he just took to the house was pretty impressive. Of course, this also plays to the comment about USC being a media darling. I see Bush getting it before Leinart.

Agree. DiHard convinced me as this a couple of weeks ago. He is one man no one can cover and - by most accounts - appears to be a good citizen off the field too.
