Agree. DiHard convinced me as this a couple of weeks ago. He is one man no one can cover and - by most accounts - appears to be a good citizen off the field too.

Whether the voters man up and go for anything younger than a Junior is the next relevant question. There is a lot of football left. At this point my vote would go to USC's Bush.

I think it is probably
Bush
Rodgers
Leinhart
Peterson
White
at this point. My personal opinion though is that Peterson is indeed deserving of the award or at least top two. What he has done is incredible.

I think Jason White has no shot, because I don't think anyone would want him to duplicate Archie's feet unless he was head and shoulders above everyone else. If he is putting up numbers comparable to others, I think the votes go elsewhere.

I use the same logic Cincibuck did. For me to vote for Peterson he would have to be light years ahead of his peers. Unfortunately his stats aren't the best in the country and there is another Freshman by the name of Jamario Thomas (North Texas) that is outperforming him. Cedric Benson is also above him in rushing statistics. I just don't feel 8 touchdowns in 8 games is fascinating. He is a tremendous athlete that will certainly win a Heisman, but his numbers are comparable to other tailbacks in the country.

White for Heisman?

I don't know about everybody else, but i'm scared about White winning the Heisman. I want Archie to be the only two time winner until another Buckeye comes and wins them. I'm curious to know who everybody thinks will win the Heisman.

If the Heisman is going to a running back, I'd have to put Cedric Benson ahead of the West Coast backs and Peterson. He is only 75 yards or so behind Peterson, but has played one game less. He also has 7 more TD's than Peterson. He also plays defenses that stack the box.

Benson means more to his team than Bush, Peterson, Leineart, and Rodgers. USC, OU and Cal are more two dimensional. Texas is a run oriented team, and Young has had a lot of trouble airing the ball out.

I would hate to see White join Archie.

On numbers: Benson
On talent: Peterson
On excitement: Bush
On mvp: White

Benson is the best candidate, except no player who values it more than his own team's rivalry should win the award.

I think White has the best overall ticket this year. Last year makes me want him to be off the list of choices, but I don't know if that's fair.

It kills me that the best candidate is a guy who clearly should not join Archie as the only other two-timer. Yet I don't think the other candidates have as strong of a case as him.

I hate to see Archie lose the distinction, but I would much rather see him be forced to share that 2-time title with Peterson. That kid is unbelievable.

If Ted Ginn is still kicked to on special teams (unlikely, outside of UM coaching decisions) and plays a lot of DB (sounds like he'll be a nickel back, or other specialized situations), he may have trouble winning the heisman next year. He will continue to be the best playmaker in america, but I don't know if that alone will be enough to overtake Peterson (who will be even better next year).

The big question is how good will Bush & Peterson be once they no longer have a stellar QB to prevent stacking the box.
