It sounds like JT was going in order of severity, worst to least.
Won't be back = gone for the season
Will be out a couple weeks = self explanatory
Won't be able to play = out this week

this is from the blade on wed. 9/21. Seems pretty black and white to me. I'm not sure if this is the author's interpreatation of JT's vague statement quoted above in this thread though.

FREEMAN OUT: Tressel confirmed yesterday that sophomore linebacker Marcus Freeman, expected to back up Bobby Carpenter this season, is lost for the season as he battles a staph infection that developed following knee surgery early this month. Freeman, who tore the meniscus while playing special teams in the opener against Miami, is a candidate for a medical redshirt to salvage a year of eligibility. He is receiving antibiotics around the clock intravenously. Tressel said sophomore tight end Rory Nicol and freshman offensive lineman Jim Cordle also will not play this season due to injuries.

This is bad news. Hamby has problems with bloodclots in his legs. Could be a major health issue for him.

We should see Frost and maybe some Carp at TE today. And possibly Stan White as well.

Maybe Haw will get a legit shot at carrying the rock some today.

Didn't know that about Ryan Hamby. If true then I would imagine that's a career threatening/ending situation. Didn't Tommy Frazier have blood clots in his leg?

Hopefully Ryan will be 100% soon.
You know its interesting ...
here on this site Ryan gets sympathy, rightly so.

Go over to BN and those f!#*ing clowns are all about the improvement his injury provides to our offense. There ought to be a law.

Worst one?

This ass clown...

Re: Ryan Hamby out for rest of season?.... <hr size="1"> Somebody send him an email and ask if he's alright.
Real funny, really fucking hilarious - not!

Per the ozone...

Injury Updates: Two seniors, running back Brandon Schnittker and tight end Ryan Hamby, did not make the trip to Minneapolis due to injury. Tressel addressed those situations after the game.

"Schnittker I don't think will be back in the regular-season. We're hoping he might get back for a bowl game. Hamby it will probably be a week-by-week thing," said Tressel.

Does this have anything to do with why he always has one white sock pulled up? At first, I thought he was trying to make some fashion statement but after watching some of the practice video on coachtressel.com I noticed he was doing it there also.
