2005 N.L.O.I. Day Thread.....

In anticipation of tomorrow we are going to have this one official thread for all of the updates for each member of this class....

I have the exact times that each of the following will be faxing their loi's in and we may get a quick quote out of them as well:

Cordle, Amos, Washington, Spitler, Russell, Denlinger, Worthington, Ashley, Gwaltney, Laurinaitis, Jenkins, O'Neal, Lenix, Wells, Williams, Robiskie, Boone and Wilson...

My plan is to update when each loi is officially sent in.....

I have more than quick quotes (ie short interviews) set up with Wells, O'Neal, Lenix, Gwaltney, Williams, Worthington, Cordle, Robiskie and Wilson....

In short, tomorrow is going to be a fun filled day....

And...I ask that this thread only be posted on by myself and OSUGrad21 (and other mods as needed) to keep it clean for the readers.....feel free to respond to the young men on their own threads that are already started....again this is going to be a fun day....

First LOI comes in at 7:00 am.....

If anyone has any specific questions they want me to ask a specific recruit....im me tonight....i will do my best....

First up is OL Jim Cordle Lancaster, Ohio.....

He has already graduated from High School and is set to begin classes at Ohio State this Spring.

I spoke with Jim earlier and he said "Its a great feeling going to Ohio State and signing just brings that out."

Jim is "signing his BigTen letter" in the morning and he "is real anxious to get to Columbus" because "that is why I graduated early."

Cordle said he is going to spend his time "working out to get in my best shape" for spring practice....

His high school is going to have a nice ceremony for Jim tomorrow to celebrate his joining the buckeyes...

Just got off the phone with Jason Gwaltney and he had this to say....

"I want to thank the Ohio State fans for having such a great interest and I am truly sorry to dissapoint them."

He said "I am hurt that the Newsday article came out, I trusted him, but now i know."

Jason went on to say it feels "great" to finally make his decision.

Donald Washington, WR/S Indianapolis

Donald sent his LOI in today at 7:00 am and said "it feels great to be a part of something special at Ohio State."

He also said "I was not at all surprised they offered, they were recruiting me all along. The offer just came late."

Washington said he will gladly play "either (wr/s), wherever they need me more, but they need more help at safety."

Todd Denlinger, Troy OH

Faxed his LOI in this morning and said "it feels great, its a good burden off my shoulders to get this done."

Todd said he plans to work on "getting faster, stronger and my footwork to become a total athlete" between now and enrolling.

Andre Amos, Middletown, OH

Andre faxed his letter of intent this morning and was on the phone with Coach Tressel when BuckeyePlanet contacted him.

Amos said the staff "is thrilled to have him" and he thinks he "can make an impact at least on special teams right away."

Austin Spitler, Bellbrook

Austin was also on the phone with Coach Tressel when I contacted him. He said he is "definitely really excited....its my dream" to be a Buckeye.

Spitler said Coach Tressel told him he "was excited to have me, this is a good class" and that Austin is "a guy they needed."

He plans to "work out every day to get a little better."

Maurice Wells, RB Jacksonvile

We just spoke with Maurice and he is seconds away from the ceremony for faxing his LOI in to the Ohio State staff.

Maurice said "it feels great" to officially be a Buckeye "it has been a long time coming." Wells said keeping his verbal a secret for so long "wasnt too bad, I told Lemming I would announce at the AA game and wanted to keep my word."

He said he doesn't model himself after any particular back and that " I kind of go out and do what I do, some compare me to a Lorenzo Booker" type of running back.

Maurice has plenty of family in Columbus, including his grandmother. He plans to move to Ohio in mid May. When asked if there is anything his Grandmother needs to start stocking in the fridge, he replied, "as long as there is food in it."

Brian Hartline, WR Canton

Brian faxed his letter of intent to Ohio State this morning and "its sitting in a Fed Ex envelope waiting to be picked up."

Doug Worthington, DE New York

Doug just faxed his LOI in to Ohio State and we will be speaking with him shortly.

Jamario O'Neal, DB Cleveland

Has faxed his letter of intent to Ohio State

Freddie Lenix, LB/S/RB Cleveland

Fred also has sent his LOI to the Ohio State coaching staff.

Ryan Williams, DE Mission Viejo CA

Ryan has sent in his letter of intent to the coaches. He was on the phone with Coach Tressel when I was speaking to his mother and I figured it wouldn't be a great idea for me to ask Ryan to put the Coach on hold.

I don't think we technically have Cordle's letter yet, but Alan talked to him (above) to I believe that yes, that is everyone. I could be wrong about Cordle as well, but his thread title hasn't been changed yet either.
Jimmy doesn't sign a LOI..just a Big 10 letter. I asked Alan the same question earlier

Brian Robiskie, WR, Chagrin Falls OH

Brian sent his letter of intent to Coach Tressel early this morning, but we were able to catch up with him during a reception being held for him this afternoon.

He said he "is excited and relieved" to officially sign and that "in a little while its going to be even better (when he gets on campus)."

Robiskie said he did not make his final decision between Ohio State and Miami, FL until "Sunday night when I sat down with my parents."
