Chris Rowell, S, Warrensville Heights, Sr.

Rugged Rowell (6-1, 175) totaled more than 60 tackles from his strong safety position last season. He also had eight sacks and two interceptions. He was recently timed at 4.46 in the 40 and has run under 4.4. Michigan, Toledo, Bowling Green, Boston College and West Virginia are among those universities interested.

Rivals Premium

According to Rivals, tOSU (Coach Tucker) just offered. He is trying to visit West Virginia, Ohio State, scUM, Cincinnati, and Pitt. He will be at the scUM/tOSU game. He was a Buckeye fan growing up and says they may have the edge.

What is with us offering so many dbs. I mean we have already got JamO, Jenkins, and Russel is very close to a sure thing we are is leader, also we are still in on smalls. Not saying that he is a bad player, I have never seen him play, but we don't have many scholarships left and we still need rb's and lb's.

The only thing I can think of is maybe there is something going on with E.J. that we don't know about and he won't be back next year.

we need corners, period! ej's status is apparently up in the air, and a lot of the corners we've recruited in the past few years are no longer playing there (whitner, gonzo, hiley and ginn). ginn could still play both ways, but still we might only have youboty, brandon underwood, shaun lane?, and jenkins for next year. duane long, who has long said jamario would be a corner, admitted today that he's probably going to outgrow the position.

rowell sounds like a great athlete (4.07 shuttle? wow!), but isn't big enough for safety; i'm guessing the coaches want him as a corner.

Westbuck I agree we need corners I was just thinking that he was a safety. I just leave it all to the coaches to do what they want and I just speculate. It just baffled me a little bit seeing as we are all of a sudden going after all these db's when we need rb's and lb's. What would happen if Smalls, Rowell, and Russell all decided to verbal. Then what would we do, turn them down and look like the bad guy. It is the same reason i thought we were not recruiting ringer, but if they do it with the secondary why not running backs also.

He looks to have the frame to put on 30-35 pounds of muscle. A 6'0" 205 lb safety isn't big but isn't all that small either. Hell, Whitner is only 5'11" and 185 lbs, and Salley weighs 205 lbs at 6'3", and we know how they can hit. Having a safety with 4.4 speed can't hurt...

PEOPLE NEED TO STOP CARING SO MUCH ABOUT HEIGHT! If the guy can play, he can play, period!!

The top 3 safeties in the NFL:

Ed Reed: 5'11
Roy Williams:6'0
Brian Dawkins: 6'0
also dont forget doss who was 5'10. height is not that big of a factor if you have the intangibles to play safety. Last time I checked we have some 6'2-6'3 guys (Salley, Mitchell) but most consider Whitner to be our best safety. A couple inches doesn't suddenly make you a great football player folks.

hey goodguy it was rumored around about a month ago HH said he might not be back next year.

don't have any idea how true it is but HH don't make shit up.
Thanks crazy, I hope EJ doesn't have his heart set on turning pro. Or is he thinking of transferring?

i highly doubt he could turn pro after being bumped out of his starting job.

i dont see how transferring could help him. once fox is gone next year, he is the frontrunner for the cb spot.
