2005 Winter Conditioning (official thread)

Regarding Smith's suspension:
Tressel says it’s not a done deal that Smith will be suspended for the Miami game. The QB could be cleared in time for the opener, although that doesn’t seem likely.

I don't wanna piss you off by saying this but in the drill they're doing a slide shuffle type of thing so Zwick is not behind.... he's just on the other side to keep space decent. Also, yeah Smith does look pretty cut. He wasn't that cut last year. Hopefully he can play starting out the year to make for a very awesome battle at QB through spring! Also another interesting question for you guys what do you guys think the rankings will be like for our players for NCAA 2006??

I'll say

AJ Hawk-95
Carpenter/Schlegal-90
Ginn-96
Troy/Zwick-88
Holmes-94
Gonzo-82

On Punts, Ginn will have 99 on the overall..... 99 speed too. It should be easier to take punts to the house.

San Antonio Holmes looks thicker! Nice to see he's working hard!

San Antonio looks thicker! Nice to see ! He'll be a nightmare to cover! Who do you double cover Ginn or Holmes? Then there's Gonzo! Wholly Buckeye!

Hehe, I knew it! I rest my case!
Sometimes they might be smiling, but when running the figure eight you get the "trying to keep their balance" facial expression. These set of pics don't seem like they're having tons of fun.

I sure hope so. Last year he was around a 97. That's just unrealistic, and I don't know how many times I'd be in the open field and some guy would be able to catch me from behind.

It'd be a really good idea to account for the discrepancy between 40 yd & 100 yd dash times. That would allow Ginn's to maintain his speed where others' speed would drop off. I just wish there were differences in speed, or perhaps even a system that would have players run at a random speed every time, where certain players run quite fast most of the time, etc. That would allow more intelligent motion in terms of getting a jump on an opponent (i.e. A WR route) and so forth. Also they need to stop being lazy programmers and remove the extremely retarded "catch up" motion (a defender that suddenly closes a huge gap in yards) used by NCAA/Madden 2005.

Davidson made the same observation as me about Rehring. He looks great compared to this time last year.

Pitcock looks like he gained a few winter pounds, on the other hands.

And is it bad that:
a) I don't recognize any of the guys in the background (possibly walkon tryouts)?
b) Underwood is sitting out (he should be over his injury by now)?

It would be good to see pictures of more than just the usual stars.

Is it me, or is Bobby Carpenter's arms huge? It looks like his muscles are ready to tear out. Just looking at the pictures makes me think about the ole winter conditioning in high school we went through.

Haha, thanks for the info bukIpower, most knowledgeable football fans would of never figured that one out! The spacing thing is just brilliant, how did you come up with that?
