2008 McDonalds All-American Game

Can't wait for this game...Got it on DVR as I will be at the buckeyes game, but this should be a great showcase for Buford and Mullens...

It seems Rivals always talks about Mullens jumpshot, and honestly watching him I never really seen that, so maybe they are seeing something that I am not seeing...

Love how they talk about Buford's ability to shoot the ball off the glass from anywhere inside the 3 point line...He has great touch and a great midrange game that he doesn't shy away from using...

I just started watching on the DVR. Mullens had 4 quick points off nice assists from Jennings.

This Jennings guy has the best hair ever. It is the Kid N Play/Scottie Pippen flat top. So awesome.

Mullens has been lazy crashing the boards/playing D it seems.

I don't think it laziness, I think it's style of play. He's having issues with posession changing every ten seconds and having to run back and forth. He has athleticism that's nearly unmatched for a seven footer, but the full conditioning doesn't appear to be there yet.

Edit:

Jennings is also spectacularly awesome. Total showman but in a good way it seems. Very fun to watch him. If Buddinger returns next year, they could be hooking up for quite a few dunks.

BJ and Buford showed me both what I expected...This game was too out of control for Buford to excel...He can easily create, but guys weren't looking to pass much...

But watching him you can just see much like Diebler this year that he understand positioning on the floor, where to go with the ball, where to go when he doesn't have the ball, etc. He also played good defense tonight which is nice to see, especially considering the talent he was going up against...

Mullens also was great to watch...He slid to the hoop off the screen and roll, but the game was a little too fast paced and guard oriented for him to get a lot of minutes...I think an offseason in the weightroom is really going to help him as well...

As for the rest of the guys...Evans as the MVP is crazy...The kid wouldn't pass the ball...He was worst than OJ mayo...

Jamaychal Green, Brandon Jennings, Samardo Samuels, Kemba Walker, Luke Babbitt, and Jrue Holiday were my favorite players in the game...

Wasn't as impressed with Greg Monroe that much...

Overall thought the game was more ragtag than usual...Don't think the talent level was up there where it has been in the past...Lots of guys with athleticism, but need to get the playground out of their game...

We made it out of the game with no injuries as well, so OBJ's heart can start beating again...:tongue2:

I couldn't stand watching him play. Honestly, if I were one a player on one of the teams thats recruiting him, I would be really torn. As good as he is, and he is incredibly good, I really don't know if I would want to be on a team with him. You could just see all of the other players on the court show so much more interest the moment he left the game.

I saw it a little different...Buford played pretty good. made a few bad decisions with shots but still had confidence and it appeared that he had respect from the other players to get the ball. He did make a few sweet moves.

Mullens definitely got much attention and played inside really good. Pretty dominating and got up and down the court really fast. It was great to see both of them. They represented the state and OSU well. Maybe better than any other same college committs...North Carolina 3, UCLA 2.

I thought Babbitt was a very thoughtful team player in this game. Always looking for the assist before the shot. Quiet but deadly. I am sure that if his dad could have got a job transfer, Babbitt would be a Buckeye.

MILWAUKEE -- Brandon Jennings spent Wednesday night refining his on-court improvisation. He decided to open his arsenal of crowd-appeasing skills which included a kaleidoscope of no-look passes and sleight of hand with the basketball.

Simply put Jennings, the ball magician and the top-ranked player in the ESPN 150, didn't look to shoot. Instead he was looking to distribute.

He had something in mind.

Contd...
