You know this is the most excited I've been about a recruiting class in almost a year!

I agree, although I was a little suprised that so many of last years frosh played. Many in this years group will be hard pressed to see the field as much with so many members of the two deep returning, but that is what is great about the way the staff has handled the frosh lately, if they are good enough, they play. With that said, this class has so many outstanding talents that quite a few could play and a few could play significantly.

I love the fact that the three o-linemen are coming in early, it will really help them in being ready to contribute early. It would be great if tOSU could use two lines and sub the whole unit like they did a few years ago, it keeps everyone fresh, and more importantly hungry, it would also provide experience for the underclassmen as they'll be the leaders in 09.

All three wideouts bring talents that this years team lacked to some extent, so they could all see some time as well. Stoney presents matchup problems with his size. Posey brings the all around recieving skills with maybe slightly better run after the catch ability than the current group. And Flash brings the flat out explosiveness that this years group lacked, although with a healthy Small and Saine along with Flash this offense will not lack for huge play potential.

Martin will be an option at FB if Olson continues to struggle with the injury bug.

On D the linemen, specially GG and Williams and maybe Wells, Mobley and Shaq can add some depth as well as keep the veterans looking over their shoulder and working their behinds off.

The depth tOSU has at LB is sick, but Sabino and Sweat are so talented they may nose their way into some playing time anyway, specially on the special units. Too many talented backers, what a problem to have.

The DBs may also see some time on special teams as the hunger and enthusiaism frosh usually bring is infective.

Buchanan will also add depth and be there in case Pretorious and Pettrey have issues.

When you add in the quality of these kids and their academic numbers as well, it sure looks like a top notch haul.

When will the recruits be moved over into the football forum? It just looks really cluttered right now with the long titles because of the signed LOI's.
Yeah, come on guys what have you been doing anyway? Signing day was February 6 and here it is three days later and we have all these posts to siphon through. What do you think we have spare time on our hands to go through all of those posts:biggrin:

A good class that I am satisfied with but with all the pub I have read I am surprised we are not ranked higher nationally.
Well, we have 19 right now. Chances are, all 19 will stay with us until they graduate or go to the NFL. We might lose 1 or two.
It's hard to be ranked higher than we are when most people above us have way more commitments.. Doesn't Alabama have 33?

The only thing that needs to be added here is that I want to be exactly like you when I grow up, GrizzlyBuck!!

I can't disagree w/anything you say. Love the O line analysis, and I too was surprised by number of frosh that played.

Oh well, can't give you another one of those little green things because it's too soon since the last. So, thanks and I'll call it a Buckeye day.

Whoa! I'd take that bet in a second! Just my guess, but I'd bet we lose someone in over 80% of our recruiting classes to transfers or career injuries (or the rare off-the-field issue). I'd say chances are, less than 17 of these new Buckeyes graduate or leave early for the NFL. I'd make a vBet, but the pay-out is way too far in the future.

I would vBet some serious vCash that we NEVER see a vBet on BP asking "Who will be the first to be kicked off the team?" or "Who will be the first to transfer because they weren't good enough to crack the 2 deep?" or "Who will be the first to fail out of school?"

Big Ten Signing Day dream team

Jeremy Crabtree
Recruiting Editor

When piecing together a Dream Team of players that signed with Big Ten schools, it's exciting to think of the possibilities. What would Ohio State's star offensive line headlined by Mike Adams look like blocking for Michigan's stud running back class of Michael Shaw and Terrence Robinson. Here is a look at what one Big Ten Signing Day Dream Team might look like.

Only 9 out of 23 (and would have been 10/24 if they included a kicker)?!?!?!

Tressel can't close.

And you think they might want to edit the QB position sometime between now and April 1?

Very well could be 11 of 24.

Man I'm like you, wish we could close. :p

EDIT: Damn Mili, doesn't he ever rest
