He might not get fired because they can't do much better. He's had more than enough time for his greatness to lift South Carolina.
That excuse might fly if he were a first time coach and not a veteran head coach in SEC country.
which would put their class about on par with BYU's 15th ranked class... and give them a class rated a bit behind 09 & well behind 07.
lol i have been following this stuff for 20 yrs.

spurrier has had 5 classes...the first class he had 45 days to recruit so i throw that out...now u are down to 4 classes..he has an average of a 12 ranked class in those 4 yrs and my point was that this past class was the first year where he had a great year in state..it takes time in order not to lose the aj greens and carlos dunlaps when uga and florida are coming in this state also to recruit..now we have david reaves at tennessee recruiting back here...its a fight in this part of the world....Spurrier is now getting those guys and looks like he will get the number 1 hs player in the nation in this next class. a guy he wouldnt have gotten 2 yrs ago..alshon jeffrey, demario jeffrey, lamar scruggs, chris payne, devonte holloman, stephon gilmore. jarvis giles, ronald byrd alone were offered by uf, southern cal, oklahoma georgia and tennessee combined.

btw, in the sec, if u are 12th nationally u arent crap because u are 7 in conference..IF osu had a 12 ranked class they would be 2nd in conference...that is like apples to oranges..

and we do have good players here at south carolina...if not, we wouldnt have had 6, yes 6, players drafted in this past draft alone. i bet not even osu had 6 drafted. things are moving along but we are in a beast of a conference and its just the way it is.

the bottom line is that our qb has been a total screwup and is just now figuring out how to act and we arent quite deep enough to lose players like ko simpson and sidney rice leave after their sophomore years. and again we just lost 3 more underclassman to the draft. again, its not fair to just look at a coach and judge without knowing crap about the program...i would never question your team so think a bit before u spout about this one.

Hmmm. Really? What would you like to discuss Chief? Would you like stories of petitions from the HS coaches early in Spurrier's career at USC or the clumsy bumbling of his staff over the last 2 years as David Reaves dipped out to Tennessee and took the SC rolodex with him?

Serve it up slick....

So....the awful OL recruiting, depth, and performance has zero role in the lack of success?

Wait a second...I'm confused here. Tell me one more time who doesn't have an idea here.

C'mon big dog...talk to me.

let me give u an education here...
Oh grad will give you an education if you stick around.

Sorry, but 4-5 classes is more than enough time to get a program off of the ground. He has not done this.
it takes time in order not to lose the aj greens and carlos dunlaps when uga and florida are coming in here..He is now getting those guys and looks like he will get the number 1 hs player in the nation in this next class. a guy he wouldnt have gotten 2 yrs ago
I wasn't aware that UGA or UF offered Lattimore. Beating out Aub, UNC, PSU, Ore, Clem is a bit of a different story.

Even with him, my point remains the same. The overall class is still quite comparable to a past Spurrier class, and behind another one.
btw, in the sec, if u are 12th nationally u arent crap because u are 7 in conference..IF osu had a 12 ranked class they would be 2nd in conference...that is like apples to oranges..
Cute little dig there, but it's completely irrelevant to the point at hand, because SC wouldn't be as high as #12 with Lattimore. They'd be about 15, 16, 17. BYU territory.
btw we have great players here at south carolina
Thank you for reinforcing my point. He's had talent there, he just isn't winning.
..we wouldnt have had 6, yes 6
 is this supposed to impress the school that recently had 14 drafted? Or had a shot at 6 first rounders a few years after that?
players drafted if not so...i bet not even osu had 6 drafted.
 OSU had a mediocre year in the draft, but they still cleared your lofty "six"
things are moving along but we are in a beast of a conference and its just the way it is.
Neither Vanderbilt, Clemson nor Iowa are beastly. In fact, Vanderbilt failed to score winning seasons in either 07 or 08, but bested Spurrier both years.

sure...lets tackle the petitions first...when spurrier got here he said that he believed that a scholarship was year to year and not for 4 yrs..he wasnt about a kid getting a scholly and then chasing tail and being lazy for 4 yrs. He set a standard and there were 3 guys who didnt go to summer workouts. it was spurriers first year and he cut em loose..The coaches got together and formed a petition to protect their players WHO were not doing [censored] anyway...Spurrier made his point and as time has gon on that has absolutely died down in this state..The coaches backed down after a time and realized that Spurrier didnt do a thing wrong. i guess it didnt hurt too much since we got gilmore, jeffrey, jeffrey, holloman and payne from the state..

now onto the next.ron cooper promised a kid in ga a scholly. the kid in question already had an offer from uga that was pulled because of his behavior in hs. Spurrier did not give ron cooper permission to offer the kid. When all this came out The usc staff was going to honor coopers promise anyway but could not get in touch with this kid. he wouldnt answer his phone or return messages..Spurrier made a decision at that time not to grant him a scholly. The coach defended his kid and raised cain..Went to the papers and all...Spurrier didnt budge. Spurrier had already had a situation with another kid who signed with Auburn while still wearing a gamecock hat...he wasnt about letting an 18 yr old mess with his day...the kid had plenty of culpability in his situation with us....Ron Cooper was then told to find another job and he went to Lsu...Didnt seem to hurt because we are racking up in Ga.

David Reaves has joined the Ut staff because he is the brother in law of Lane kiffin..the day after he was hired at tennessee he drove down to florida and tried to recruit Jarvis Giles, a kid that already committed to usc..actually he committed to david reaves..reaves thought he could go down in his UT gear and get Giles to turn. Giles told him to go screw himself and is now a freshman at usc..So David Reaves doesnt scare me at all..

oh yeah, dont refer to me as chief or slick..i dont mess with u and u dont mess with me

I'd say you telling him (who is a HS coach in SC) he "doesn't know what he's talking about" is messing with him. Not to mention he's an administrator of this very board...

I'll wait for Grad's take from South Carolina, but from afar, the above quote isn't remotely believable. Did the high school not have telephones? Was the kid's football team & staff disbanded and forbidden to speak? Were all roads into the town closed for construction? One cell phone stops participating and all lines of communication are eliminated? Come on man, that's a very weak excuse to try and save face.
I'd say you telling him (who is a HS coach in SC) he "doesn't know what he's talking about" is messing with him. Not to mention he's an administrator of this very board...
And has plenty of experience in SC HS coaching & SEC college recruiting circles...
