This is the same admissions department that got JT Turner in. Tom Beaver is an bitter idiot period....

how are they going to justify richard ash? even FSU didn't really recruit him because of grades, and they have a team full of Alvin Macks. admissions is the least of RamRod's problems.

It's one thing to say anti-RR folks are working against him, which happens anywhere there's a new coach, particularly one who loses in record numbers.

It's a completely different thing to blame RR's academic casualties & wrong DC hire on someone else. And yes, it was said in previous blogs that RR was given bad advice on hiring Shafer.

Admissions departments lock kids out at every school. Coaches go to bat for kids, and sometimes they just don't win. ND coveted Bob Stoops, but he wanted more academic exemptions, and they wouldn't allow that caveat to hire him. Javon Ringer should have been a buckeye but was locked out. That's not because anyone hates Jim Tressel, it's because Javon had a big red flag that they wouldn't ignore.

Witty didn't make it past admissions last year due to poor academic numbers, and with a year to improve, he still came back to admissions with an iffy resume.

That's Adrian Witty's fault, not Lloyd Carr's Vindictive Admission Board.

Comment in an email I received today:

"I don't really care about Michigan football. I learned to hate Ohio State when I worked in Ann Arbor. It was a necessity for survival."

Yeah, I know. :slappy:

What are you talking about Jwinslow? Everything is Lloyds fault don't you know that he wants Brady Hoke to be the next coach?

Murphy to Maryland | mgoblogDE Murphy was the lowly recruited teammate of blue-chip CB Tony Grimes. They were a package deal likely headed to Michigan (most big schools didn't offer Murphy), then assistant coach Hopson left Michigan. That shook up Grimes (who was a UM lock). That makes this rumor very interesting.

Interesting.

Well the good news for UM is losing Murphy and if Grimes goes elsewhere... they don't really need DEs.... or DBs.

Heh heh.
