The North Remembers
2010 looks like it will be a huge year for video game releases, as 2009 was a bit of a dud. Post some titles you are looking forward to the most. Here are some I'm anticipating:

XBox 360

Alan Wake
Remedy
Spring 2010

Alan-wake-0.jpg

Alan Wake, a bestselling writer, hasn't managed to write anything in over two years. Now his wife, Alice, brings him to the idyllic small town of Bright Falls to recover his creative flow. But when she vanishes without a trace, Wake finds himself trapped in a nightmare. Word by word, his latest work, a thriller he can't even remember writing, is coming true before his eyes. He somehow knows it's his story without any memory of writing it.

Singularity
Raven Software
Q1 2010

The game takes place in 2010 and the plot revolves around a mysterious island known only as "Katorga-12" where Russian experiments involving "E99" (Element 99, which appears to be an equivalent to the actual element Einsteinium, which has no special properties like those referenced in the game), took place during the height of the Cold War era. Sometime during 1950, a terrible catastrophe known as the "Singularity" occurred on the island[1]. The player controls Nate Renko, an Air Force pilot who is sent to investigate bizarre radiation emissions coming from the island, only to crash land there. After regaining consciousness, Nate finds the TMD (Time Manipulation Device) and discovers that the island is constantly shifting between the time periods of 1950 and 2010. Renko's goal is to find his co-pilot, escape the island and eventually prevent the Singularity from occurring.[1] Besides having to deal with hostile Russian forces in both time periods, the player must also deal with hideously mutated flora, fauna and former residents of the island, some of which have developed time manipulation powers of their own.
A Multiplayer element has also been confirmed for Singularity, although no details have yet been announced.

I like this one because it sounds like Lost.

Brink
Splash Damage
Spring 2010

Brink_game.jpg

In Brink, two sides, "Resistance" and "Security", fight in the outskirts of a utopian city known as The Ark, a floating city surrounded by the waters of a flooded Earth.[1] The Ark was designed as a prototype of a perfect city, with renewable resources and no pollution, large enough to support 5,000 residents. Its population has grown to 50,000 however, leading it to the brink (hence the name of the game) of a civil war.

Max Payne 3
Rockstar Vancouver
Q1 2010

Maxpayne3.png

According to Rockstar's Sam Houser, they are starting a new chapter of Max's life with the game. "This is Max as we've never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever." Since the last game, the press release states Max has left New York behind and has "drifted from bad to worse". The press release then goes on to say Max has been double-crossed in this new city and he is searching for the truth and a way out.

I Am Alive
Ubisoft Shanghai
2010

alive-1.jpg

I Am Alive takes place in post-apocalyptic Chicago after a major-scale earthquake, and tells the story of a man named Adam Collins. The plot focuses on Adam's life during the aftermath of a 10.3 magnitude earthquake, which shatters his life as a citizen, while the rest of the world is under a water crisis. The rescue team fails to arrive, Adam gets caught in chaos that gets worse by the hour. Chicago has been cut off from the outside world. Adam sets up a refugee camp in the ruins of Chicago to attract the government's attention. The player will need to find resources, organize survivors and search for Adam's girlfriend, Alice. In the midst of Chicago?s ruins, the player will have to survive for seventeen days.

Also, huge sequels from:

- Fallout: New Vegas (which will likely be my favorite game)
- Bioshock 2
- Mass Effect 2
- Mafia 2
- Possibly a new GTA

Battlefield Bad Company 2
I've always like BF FPS's, so hopefully this one will be a good one as well.
Fallout New Vegas
Really liked Fallout 3, hopefully this is just as good if not even better.
I'm really going to have to upgrade my damn PC to even think about playing them on the platform I want to.

Ohhh man I can't wait for that game. Me and my best friend used to play 7v1 comp stomp micro in the first Starcraft, and then we would bs everyone. Some great times we had!!

Funny thing is, I remember being one of those guys that was BS a few times.

Until I got good.... really good. Like, Korean type good.

So if I saw you not rushing the comp and sitting back mining resources, chances are your base was flooded with Hydralisks and Mutalisks before you
could say "oh shit".

I apologize if you were one of those potential BS'ers. But hey, we'll have a chance to play in the new year bud

Supposidly Fallout New Vegas is being worked on by members of the original Fallout games. I think New Vegas will be as good or better than Fallout 3. It will possibly be funnier and include Easter Eggs and random encounters (The Bridge of Death from Monty Python's Holy Grail for instance) like the old games had, that would make the next installment even more entertaining.
