2010 TSUN News offseason (football)

I knew it was bad, but I didn't really realize how bad it really was until I looked at some numbers.

Rivals.com College Football - Rodriguez knows there are no guarantees

The defense ranked ninth in the Big Ten in each of the past two seasons, yielding 366.9 yards per game in 2008 and 393.3 in 2009.

Last season, Michigan allowed at least 35 points in four games in a row for the first time ever.

Stopping the run has been problematic. Michigan was sixth in the Big Ten in 2008 (136.9 ypg) and fell to 10th in '09 (171.9 ypg).

The Big East Duo of Rich Rodriguez and Greg Robinson better start praying. But they'll be better. Without Brandon Graham. Without Donovan Warren. Without a secondary. If it doesn't go well, maybe they can bring back Scott Schafer.

Anybody else see that Will Campbell is buried behind Martin and Patterson at DT? Not surprising, considering how fat and slow he looked in the Big Ten preview show, but that's got to burn. I'm curious how quickly this former 5-star soon-to-be bust transfers.

He should have been on o-line along with Lalota. Then again Michigan needs bodies on the d-line since we are so thin there. But what the fuck do I know? RR must be setting up the Trojan horse.

This season is going to be so awesome in so many different ways.

Just like with ND last year. Bittersweet.

You enjoy the hell out of every successive loss but you know each one is a nail in a coaches coffin you don't ever actually want to see fired.

I think it's more of our defensive coaching staff outhinking themselves more than anything.

Will Campbell is such a stud!!
Hankins is so slow and lazy!!
Everything I say ends up the exact opposite, and always in favor of Ohio State!!

Cluster. Fuck.

What is funny is that this isn't your typical "Blowout Opener" scenario where your squad is expecting to win 50-7 and you will be able to play some young pups once the game is hand.

This game is a toss up and he is going to play a bunch of freshmen. I hope to god OSU is never in a situation where 10 Freshman have to play in a season opener that is in doubt.

You know what's really funny? The two teams you're talking about are MICHIGAN and UCONN. Think about that for a second. Michigan vs UConn is a toss up.

I was on their boards for some humor recently and saw them whining about how they didn't have an easy tune up game like we do. And they're Michigan. And it's UConn. And they're actually right in regards to the talent difference between the two teams. Michigan and UConn are evenly matched......and they don't see anything wrong with it.
