2011 Australian Open - Men's Winner

announcers were all over Wawrinka laying down in the third set but maybe the second:!

It's amazing how a guy can look so good in 1 match and then get wiped off the court in his next.

Wawrinka easily beat Roddick, but had no chance against Federer.

Berdych looked fantastic against Verdasco, and last night Djokovic took him apart. The Djoker kept him moving around, mixed up speeds and spins to keep him off balance, and won the match easily (6-1, 7-6, 6-1).

Assuming Nadal and Murray win tonight, there should be some great tennis matches in the semis.

Spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't seen anything yet (doing this since we are near the end)

....

Can't believe Nadal got creamed like that, very surprised, Ferrer playing on fire this whole tournament....

Just saw the highlights, looks like Nadal's health was a huge factor

All anticipation and hype for a Federer vs. Nadal showdown in the final has been deflated.

The djoker pulls the straight set stunner against r fed in the semi this am down unda.

Finals matchup will feature Djokovich vs. tonight's semifinal winner between Murray and Ferrer.
Ferrer has been playing well, but have to expect Murray vs. djoker in the final.

Not when you have vcash on one of the top two seeds:wink:

I'm pretty sure the $6 vBillion I lost on this bet is the record for most vCash lost by 1 person. :(

Federer didn't play well in the important points. In the first set, he held at love at 4-5 and 5-6, and he held at love in the opening game of the second set. But in between, he lost a couple of service points in the tiebreak.

In the second set, he served up 5-3, trying to tie the match. Obviously that break was huge in the match.

Djokovic played great, and Federer wasn't at his best, which he needed to be in order to win the match.

Feel a sense of sadness today when the stock market hits 12k that the world's richest man suffers a $6 billion dollar loss.

On the other positive side however you make a good observation on the easy holds and big points/close games lost by Fed.

The total point differential was only 119 to 111 for Djokovic, but the match felt a lot more one-sided for the Serb

The total point differential was indeed an anomaly for a match that appeared by the final score to be a clear and decisive win for djoker.

Djokovic cruised in the final, winning 6-2, 6-4, 6-3. He broke Murray 7 times in 13 service games.

His defense was just fantastic, making it extremely hard for Murray to hit any winners.
