2012 Rivals/Scout/etc. National & Regional Rankings

Roderick Smith has a DT teamate on that list.

Donte Bowen, DL, Harding (Fort Wayne, Ind.)
With the recruitment of running back Rod Smith coming to an end recently as he committed to Ohio State, colleges would be wise to shift their focus to another Harding player, sophomore defensive lineman Donte Bowen.
Head coach Sherwood Haydock thinks Bowen, who started 10 games last year, will blossom into a monster on the defensive line.
?He?s just an animal,? Haydock said.
Bowen (6-2, 220 pounds) had 22 solo tackles last season, including six for loss and three sacks. Teammate Zac Haycock also saw time as a freshman playing quarterback. He could have a similarly bright future.
Linebacker Coy Brown had an outstanding season for a very good NorthWood team, and should be another to watch from the Hoosier State in 2012.

The breakdown by state is:

11 - Cali
11 - Florida
8 - Texas
6 - Georgia
6 - Ohio
58 - Other

From Ohio:

  • George ?Bam? Bradley, DB, Trotwood-Madison (Trotwood, Ohio)
  • Brionte Dunn, RB, GlenOak (Canton, Ohio)
  • Allen Gant, DB, Southview (Sylvania, Ohio)
  • Maty Mauk, QB, Kenton (Ohio)
  • Benny McGowan, OL, Centreville (Ohio)
  • Greg McMullen, DL, Archbishop Hoban (Akron, Ohio)

And under McGowan it said:

Also class of 2012 lineman from Ohio to watch is Marshawn Bell, who plays for Ten Ginn at Glenville.

That's all that stood out to me.

Yeah, and Maty Mauk is Ben Mauk's little brother.(Played for Cincy and Wake) Kenton is only like 5-10 miles away from my mom's house and from what I'm hearing he is going to be better than Ben.

No disrespect, but you just put Ben Mauk on the same thought process as arguably the best RB of all time (top 5 for sure) and the top DB of all time (top 5 for sure).

I know that's not how you meant it, but I had to laugh a bit. It'll be interesting to see how QB recruiting in '12 looks assumimg something ends up happening with Miller.

I don't really see how. He brought up two great players that had sons in this class, I just brought up a good quarterback whos brother is also in this class. Never really made the insinuation that Ben was on the same level as Neon or Barry, I was just furthering the thought process that there are quality genes in the upcoming class.

Wow, he jump cuts and changes speed/direction just as fast as his dad. That's eerie.

I don't know if we have any chance of landing him, but he's going to be really good.

If i remember correctly Barry Sr. went to Oklahoma State Uni. the other OSU . I bet with them looking better every year he will give them a serious look .
