2013-14 Bowl Games Open Thread

A thread is for discussing bowl games following the 2013 season. The Buckeyes' bowl game will have its own thread as usual. This one is for discussing the rest of the games.

As I sip my coffee I'm glad there is a B1G CG now. In years past, we would've gone to the NC game and played FSU after escaping Ann Arbor. I shudder to think what the Seminoles would do to our defense, at this point. I have no desire to see another Buckeye blowout in a BCS championship game.

Hopefully, we'll get a better match up in a different BCS bowl, presumably the Orange.

Stewart Mandel's projections for the Big Ten. I think these are fairly accurate:
Rose Bowl: Michigan State vs. Stanford
Orange Bowl: Ohio State vs. Clemson
Capital One Bowl: Wisconsin vs. South Carolina
Outback Bowl: Iowa vs. LSU
Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl: Nebraska vs. Kansas State
Gator Bowl: Michigan vs. Georgia
Texas Bowl: Minnesota vs. Oregon State

Once again, I don't see a lot of wins on that schedule for the B1G. Ohio State probably has the best shot, and MSU-Stanford should be a hell of a game. Otherwise, the rest will be tough games for the conference.

Honestly... I know its not going to happen.. but I think I'd rather see us go to the Capital One Bowl... that would end up knocking everyone else down a bowl game and give a more realistic shot to the rest of the teams instead of them being in a bowl 1 tier above where they should be....

They can go 4-3 with that schedule. Nebraska will be K-State, Minny should beat Oregon State (they've quit). If Sparty can not Sparty up the Rose Bowl and if Ohio State can stop Clemson 2-3 times in the Orange Bowl, it's a winnable slate.

Hell, scUM might even have a shot against what's left of UGA if they play them with the intensity/passion they played us. Hey, where's ped aggy?

I'm optimistic. The only really bad matchups that I see are Iowa-LSU and (assuming UGA gets healthy) TSUN-UGA. I'm a lot more worried about our ability to win a shoot-out with Clemson than I am some of the other games.
