Thankfully ASU isn't on probation this year and can play for the CWS title again. Crappy thing is they will probably be lucky to make it to a Super Regional because they don't seem to be as good this year as years past. Pitching will be good, but there aren't any big bats in the lineup and ASU fans aren't used to seeing small ball in Tempe.
Coach Esmay pulled in the #8 recruiting class in the nation this year so hopefully some of those young guys can be productive.
ASU was picked to finish 6th in the Pac 12 in the coaches poll. The Pac 12 is going to be really good this year.
ASU will get to take on 2 SEC teams in non-conference play by having a road trip to Tennesse and playing the #1 Arkansas Razorbacks twice in Arizona. ASU also plays Wichita State and Long Beach State as 2 of our tougher non-conference foes.
Excited for the season to begin.
