In stunning move, Alex Collins wavering on signing with Arkansas - South Florida Sun-Sentinel

ESPN is reporting that allegedly his mother took his LOI & ran off with it because she wanted him to stay close to home, instead of leaving for Arkansas. The LOI needs to be signed by a parent or guardian before it becomes official. NEVER heard of anything like this before. *Sheds tear for Bielema*

Haha...reminds me of Landon Collins and his mom when he picked Alabama over LSU and her response on national TV was "Go Tigers"...

That is definitely the pinnacle of announcement moments that I've witnessed live. The look of dismay on his mom's face is great.

Watching that again, that has the be the most unexcited group reaction to a commitment ever. Usually there's a shout of happiness & some clapping, but there was nothing from that bunch. Nothing. Only a subdued, completely disappointed clap from a few members.

Wow never saw that video before... Kind of felt bad for the kid. Great support system he has there.

"And what's the deal with fax machines these days?" [can be done in either a Jerry Seinfeld, Andy Rooney or Paul Reiser voice]

Pantoni tweeted a picture of the OSU fax machine this morning.

Why do you hate the divine plan that brought Na'il Diggs to Columbus?

For those too young to remember the reference...

In College Football Recruiting, The Star Player Is the Fax Machine

.../snip/...

The all-time fax fiasco involved Durell Price, a running back from the Los Angeles area who was expected to sign with Ohio State in 1996.

Mr. Price faxed the Buckeyes his letter from a nearby drugstore, but as soon as the employee faxed it, "I thought, 'Oh man, a month from now I'm going to be 3,000 miles from home,'" he says. He figured he was headed to Ohio, since the fax had already gone through.

Only it hadn't; Ohio State left a message at his home saying it had received only part of his letter. Mr. Price leaped at the reprieve: He signed with UCLA the next day.

.../cont/...

That turn of events left a spot open for Na'il Diggs to receive his Buckeye offer.

As they say, things really do have a tendency to work out.

... And Diggs had been committed to John Robinson's USC squad for so long that Coop's staff wasn't even recruiting him. Diggs only considered OSU after USC's AD Mike Garrett fired basketball coach Charlie Parker (who was dating Na'il's older sister). Na'il even admitted later in interviews that he basically chose to go anywhere but USC because of Mike Garrett. Had Coop not had that spot open up, Diggs likely would've landed in Arizona.

Anyone else not able to stand espn and their rankings? Idk if its bc of their SEC partnership or what but they seem to always rate a guy higher if he chooses an SEC team. Their team rankings always seemed biased as heck too.
