LB Martrell Spaight to visit OSU, WVU
November, 20, 2012
By Damon Sayles | ESPN.com

Martrell Spaight (Coffeyville, Kan./Coffeyville Community College) finished his sophomore season with 130 tackles, seven sacks, three pass breakups and a blocked kick -- and he did all that in only nine games.

It was Spaight?s all-in play that made him the Jayhawk Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Spaight?s 130 tackles ranks him fourth on the school?s all-time list for single-season performances.

Now, it?s time for the former North Little Rock (Ark.) standout to look at FBS programs. Spaight will visit Ohio State this weekend and has a visit set for West Virginia the weekend of Dec. 8.

LB Spaight enjoys OSU, ready for Rutgers
November, 27, 2012
By Damon Sayles | ESPN.com

Fresh off a productive trip to Ohio State, junior college outside linebacker Martrell Spaight (Coffeyville, Kan./Coffeyville Community College) is preparing for an official visit to Rutgers on Wednesday.

He?s only hoping the Rutgers trip will be just as memorable as the trip to Columbus, Ohio, was. Spaight was on hand to watch the Buckeyes defeat Michigan, 26-21, and finish the regular season 12-0. He was one of 105,899 in attendance.

?It was a great trip. I enjoyed the Division I atmosphere,? said Spaight, the reigning Jayhawk Conference Defensive Player of the Year. ?I?m getting a feel for the speed [of the game] and things like that.?

nj.com - Rutgers recruiting: Scarlet Knights on top for Coffeyville's Martrell Spaight after official visit

12/2

...Spaight compared his Rutgers visit to the visit he took to Ohio State the weekend before.

"They both have their similarities; great education from a business standpoint. And they both made it a point to tell me how the teachers would work with me to ensure I am successful.

"From a football standpoint, they both played pretty hard," he continued. "Ohio State won their game and Rutgers didn't, but I liked how they both played as a team. I really enjoyed Rutgers and Ohio State, too."

However, after two consecutive visits, combined with the fact that Ohio State has yet to offer, Rutgers is currently Spaight's favorite potential collegiate destination.

"Rutgers is up there, they've been there from day one. They are on the top of my list, and I would have to say Ohio State is up there behind Rutgers.

Spaight plans to make his final decision sometime before Dec. 19 when he finishes up at Coffeyville Community College. There is a chance he could take an official visit to Kansas State before that time, but it is still up in the air.

By Brad Bournival | ESPN.com

Ohio State?s pursuit of a linebacker has taken the Buckeyes to the junior college level, where the squad is eyeing one of the key members of the national runner-up Butler Community Grizzlies.

Outside linebacker Tommy Sanders of Cordele, Ga. will join the likes of Gareon Conley (Massillon, Ohio/Washington), Mike Mitchell (Plano, Texas), David Dawson (Detroit/Cass Tech) and Donovan Munger (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights) on an official visit to Ohio State this weekend .

?I?m looking to meet the coaches and players and see what they have to offer,? said Sanders, who doesn?t have an offer from the Buckeyes just yet. ?I?ll be looking at the academics and the community, and how well the program is being supported.?
