2013 Poll - Does Ohio State belong in the top Five?

Where Will Ohio State Be Ranked in the 2013 Preseason Polls?

Texas A&M finished the season as the hottest team. I fully expect them to be preseason #2 and will have a showdown vs Bama for the top spot a few weeks into the season.

It should benefit ohio state to start out at #3, avoid the preseason media hype of being #1.

I voted #3, but the more I think about it, the more I think #4.

Alabama
Oregon
A&M
OSU
Georgia

It's close.. Don't think there is a clear #2-5.

I have the same thoughts. Mine:

Alabama
Oregon (HC change may slide down a spot)
OSU
A&M (lose top OL talent)
Georgia/Florida/SEC team/ESPN whore

University of Louisvillemight crack the top 5 and jump Ohio State. The media will be all over them after the bowl game, and they play a fairly pathetic schedule next year.
They could be anywhere from #2 to #8 in the preseason polls and it wouldn't be much of a surprise.

Easily top 5.

I'm goin with #2. Would have put Oregon ahead of us if Kelly stayed. His departure and the looming penalties drops them a few spots in my ranks.

I'd say there is at least a 50% chance of Oregon not being eligible for a bowl game this season anyway.

It's quite clear that tOSU will put up plenty of points, but they'll have to, as the loss of 6 of the front 7 on defense will probably turn each game into a scoring contest (until the tOSU defense can gel). Kinda the same as this year's O, being kept in the game by the D until the O could gel, which it did.

In 2013, the O will be holding the fort until the D can catch up, and then the year after that it will reverse. Such is college football....#10 because of the 9 out of 11 starters returning on O. It's better to take 'em by surprise than keep looking back. Just ask Southern Cal.

Many that will be started on the Dline received significant
Playing time this year. Especially Spence & Washington.
I'm really not too concerned about the front 4 - or the
Secondary for that matter.

My questions are with the linebackers. If we can see at least
Another 3 down body step up across from Shazier I think this
Defense could be good. Keep in mind our defensive staff has
Required as much time to "gel" as the players have. I feel now that
The scheme has had time to evolve, player development should excel.

Probably dumb to say it, but I just have this 09 type feeling coming on.
A great defense that nobody expected to be that good, that fast.
