Ohio high school football playoff pairings released

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced the final football computer ratings, regional playoff brackets and first round pairings Sunday following the conclusion of the regular season Saturday night.

A total of 224 schools have qualified for the postseason out of the 714 that played football this season (31.4 percent). First round games are played at the home site of the higher seed, or the site of the higher seed’s choosing.

Yes, CHCA is in the Sycamore area, high schools are about 5 minutes from each other. Cincinnati Winton Woods is in Forest Park, which is at the top of the 275 loop just south of Fairfield.

Clinton Massie will be going to its third consecutive State semifinal after beating Alter last night. Very tough matchup against Kenton next week. It will be hard for Massie to repeat as State champs this year. Coach Dan McSurley has really done an amazing thing in Clarkesville, OH. He took over in the late 90s. The school had never made a playoff game until 1999. They may have missed making the playoffs once or twice since then.

Clinton Massie will be going to its third consecutive State semifinal after beating Alter last night. Very tough matchup against Kenton next week. Clinton Massie vs. Mooney for the Div. IV Championship. CM entered the 4th quarter against Kenton down 20-7, but scored two late TDs to post the 21-20 win.
