2015-2016 Ohio State Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

If 3 of the freshmen want to quit/transfer, so be it.

It might get Matta to see the writing on the wall, but there was a time when players would fight through their issues instead of running away from them.

I've been in the pro-Matta camp for as long as he's been here and always thought anybody that wants Thad gone is loony toons. That said, 2006-07 is a distant memory, and things have been sliding the wrong direction since 2012-13. There have been some major whiffs on the recruiting trail. D'Angelo Russell just threw everybody not named Kam Williams under the bus a week ago. Attendance is the worst it has been since Jim O'Brien was hired.

Something is presently rotten and it is becoming a legitimate concern whether Thad Matta is/will be the one here to fix it.

Just to be clear, D'Angelo wasn't around when Mitchell, Bell, Lyle, Giddens and AJ arrived, so it's not really "everyone not named Kam." It's probably more Loving he was talking about than anyone else.

Thank you, Grammar Man.

Next week, Grammar Man will enlighten us as to litotes and irony.

My post had nothing to do with grammar, but your typical off-the-topic reply was par for the course. First this thread became about Urban v Tressel. My attempt to steer it back on course somehow became about you.

Seemingly not long ago I would've laughed at this post, but something seems amiss in Columbus. When you look at some of the guys who left early, weren't named Russell, and didn't get drafted, it makes me wonder if they just wanted to move on.

If so, why?

I don't know why I get the feeling that Coach Matta is retiring, but I don't know why the athletic department would wait to announce it (perhaps after next Monday).

With this many transfers, it's almost like a new coach cleaning house.

I love Thad to death, but there's no coming back from this one. The team has lacked discipline for a few years now. They're losing their entire freshman class. It might not even be his fault, but this stinks bad and nobody worth anything is coming near this place with that stigma. It's time to change things up.
