Game Thread 2015 National Championship Game: (2) Oregon vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 12th @ 8:30p ET, ESPN

why would anyone watch this crap loaded with their commercials when you can get all of the full games and almost all of the games in a 1 hours hilights real in HD on youtube?

Or...just go to Media on BP and get the whole game already edited commercial-free*?

(*Having just started back with cable, and having lived an almost entirely commercial-free life since last winter, I found myself wondering yesterday how I was going to be able to stand to watch the games this fall. The poli ads are already up and running. May just wear out the mute button on my remote.)

I went a year without cable. Just streaming. Then moved and the deal for the sports package with fios is unreal so I have cable again. Particularly because they are the only cable company that have btn as a standard channel in florida. I wonder why I have it most of the time. The only reason for cable is to watch sports. That's it.

Well, it's become an annual ritual for me to start browsing cable packages around the start of August each year. Aside from college football, the only things I really watch on TV anymore are like the Macy's or Rose parade, or some Halloween or Christmas movies on TCM. But, I recorded so much over the years, there are hardly any films I can think of except current ones that I don't already have a copy of. So, not much reason to plow through the several thousand pharmaceutical ads per hour. (Every Big Pharma ad in existence, BTW, condensed into one: "Hey! This MarkMay'll kill you! Have some!") Anyway, love the Autumn and the football. Lots of special stuff going on for me this October, so I'm looking forward to it. Normally, come February, I'd be cutting the cable cord.

I thought you all were exaggerating about home many commercials there are. I flipped to ESPNU an the Sugar Bowl was on. They came back from commercial and put the score on the screen for about 30 seconds and went back to commercial. How crazy is that?

I watched a bunch of the games that were on the U yesterday. I can't say for certain, but I believe that the Sugar Bowl and NCG both had more content than what I saw a couple of weeks ago. Don't get me wrong, it was pretty bad, but even then, seemed better than what I saw previously.
