With froome and most of sky looking on form he's got to be a prohibitive favorite.

(Also of note, stage 4 will be on the cobbles - if I remember that right- sky will be riding the dogma k-8 s with suspension... Neat bike)

Froome putting down the hammer today.

Yeah he did. I've been lucky enough to be able to watch an hour or two live every morning and it has been one of the most exciting beginnings of a race I can remember... but he may have just locked it up with that. And the way Porte rebounded to finish second was amazing. I think Sly has the motors to hold off any challenge. At least TJ is well placed for a podium finish (going into the second week, anyways).

Nibali is a shadow of his former self.

Yeah, I wanted to wait a day before I put a fork in him, but he's done. Quintana is maybe kinda sorta still in it, maybe Tejay too, and 19 and 20 are brutal so something could happen, but at this point, Froome and Sky are in complete command, BMC and Movistar will have to get time out of them at least twice, and personally I think the more likely outcome is Froome takes more time out of them before its over.

Biggest battle right now is between Froome and Porte for the Polka Dot. With Porte going to BMC next year it will be interesting to see if he does a little freelancing (especially if it looks like Froome has it locked up).

If that's all that's left, gonna get boring.

Agree---and this is when things usually get exciting. With Sky having 3 in the top 10 I just don't see Movistar or BMC mounting a successful attack. Any move Quintana makes he'll have Porte on his wheel. Same with TJ. Maybe someone like Pinot slips away in the Alps (certainly considerable precedent for that) but I don't see any GC contenders looking like they have it. Hey, good showing for Africa so far (Trivia: Eritrea and the USA are the only two countries who tax expats on foreign income.)
