2016-2017 College Basketball Discussion

St. Bonaventure nailed a 3 to complete an 8-0 run and upset VCU 66-65. Not so fast. There was 0.4 left on the clock as SB fans stormed the court. Five minutes later, VCU made a technical free throw called due to the premature jocularity, and the game headed to OT tied at 66. VCU prevailed in OT, 83-77.

Nice job, Bonnie fans. :bonk:

What the hell is it with VCU road games, three point winners against them in the final second, and court storming? This time, it's at George Washington.

GW nails a 3 pointer with less than a second on the clock to go up 53-52, and here come the fans. How much time is left? 0.4 seconds - again!

No technical this time, though. Instead, VCU sets a pick on the inbound defender, flops, and the refs call it. Unfuckingbelievable. :tinfoil:

VCU makes both free throws and they steal another one, 54-53.

:slappy:VCU might be the luckiest team of the year for this garbage. If those 2 games ended in Ls like they should had they would be in some trouble when it comes to the tourney picture. Now they are pretty likely in unless they bomb down the last month stretch.

Well, Gonzaga beat St. Mary's at St. Mary's, which was their last tough game of the year. I suppose the Gaels could get them in the conference championship, but it looks very good for the Zags to go into the NCAA's undefeated. Doesn't matter what you think of an undefeated, number one seed Gonzaga, that makes for an exciting tournament in an otherwise blah season.

Agree with the blah basketball season and after watching Gonzaga play for the second time this season I think that they will be lucky to make it to the Final Four. I do not think that their big men can play with the more athletic big men in the country and I do not see anyone else on that team who is a real game changer. I have no idea who is going to win it all this year but I just did not think that it is going to be Gonzaga.

Where is Grayson Allen when you need him:lol:Geneva College and Westminster College, two members of the Presidents Athletic Conference, have a well-established cross-state rivalry. The schools don’t like each other, and that goes double for their basketball teams.

The bubble is REALLY weak this year

Bracketology has Syracuse in (and not in the first 4) at 16-12 and 1 game over .500 in the ACC

with Pitt (15-12 and fucking 4-10 in the ACC) and Wake Forest (15-12 6-9) in the ACC among the last 8 left out (Providence is also included in this)

Could be one of the weaker tourney fields in some years, hopefully the tourney takes on the chaotic form of this season though.
