2016 MLB Draft results: Ohio State has 4 players selected on Day 3

The Buckeyes capped their season by seeing six players selected in the three days of the MLB Draft.
The Major League Baseball draft came to an end on Saturday, and the Ohio State baseball team made quite a nice showing. After left fielder Ronnie Dawson was selected in the second round by the Houston Astros on Thursday and center fielder Troy Montgomery went in the eighth round to the Los Angeles Angels on Friday, four more Buckeyes were taken on the draft's final day on Saturday.
Jacob Bosiokovic, Michael Horejsei, Nick Sergakis, and Tanner Tully all had their names called by big league clubs, and will now have the opportunity to make their professional dreams a reality.
Bosiokovic was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 19th round, No. 560 overall. A redshirt junior, the Delaware, Ohio native slashed .275/.347/.488 in 2016, with 11 home runs and 34 runs driven in. Bosiokovic has a year of eligibility remaining due to sitting out 2015 after Tommy John surgery, but his recruiting class is the group of seniors that will be departing the program.
Horejsei went to the Chicago White Sox in the 21st round, the 626th player selected. As a shutdown left-handed reliever, the Cleveland St. Ignatius product appeared in 34 games as a senior, going 1-0 with a 2.61 earned run average. Horejsei limited opposing hitters to just a .156 batting average, sported a 0.84 WHIP, and had a 4.33-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Sergakis capped off a tremendous senior year by being drafted in the 23rd round, No. 700 overall, by the defending National League pennant-winning New York Mets. The Columbus native was a first-team All-Big Ten honoree in 2016 after slashing .332/.451/.542 with 18 doubles, 10 homers, 47 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases. Sergakis was in the top ten in the conference in slugging, on-base percentage, runs scored, hits, RBIs, doubles, home runs, walks, hit by pitch, and total bases.
Tully, who was also a first-team All-Big Ten selection, was taken in the 26th round by the Cleveland Indians with the 782nd pick. The lefty from Elkhart, Indiana went 8-3 as a junior in 2016, with a 2.59 ERA. In three seasons, Tully is 18-10 with a 2.93 ERA, and was named Freshman of the Year in the conference in 2014. With a year of eligibility remaining, he will have a big decision to make as to whether to go pro or take his chances at boosting his draft stock as a senior.
That's a lot of talent Ohio State will be looking to replace in 2017, and a testament to how special the 2016 season was for the Buckeyes. Congratulations to this group of draftees, and good luck to them in their professional careers.
