2016 NFL Draft (April 28-April 30, 2016)

Holy [Mark May]. They made that trade for Carson Wentz? Wentz may end up being a fine QB, and God knows the Rams need a QB as bad as anybody, but are they serious with this? :slappy:
Sad thing is... you know they talked to the Browns... it probably wasn't that sweet of a deal... but still a pretty decent offer was out there.

Looks like Wentz or Goff to the Rams.

Details of trade:

Tennessee gets: Rams 2016 first-round pick (#15), two 2016 second-round picks, a 2016 third-round pick, a 2017 first-round pick, and a 2017 third-round pick.

Rams get: Titans 2016 first pick (#1), Titans 2016 fourth-round pick, and Titans 2016 sixth-round pick.

If the Browns were considering a trade down, this certainly hurts their chances of finding a trading partner.

It obviously also hurts their chances of getting their franchise quarterback, if that was what they are targeting with their #2 overall pick.

Now they can take Tunsil, who might just be the best player in the draft.....or dangle him as trade bait.

From the linked article:
But the Rams, the youngest team in football over the last four seasons and a team with many defensive pieces in place, knew they’d never catch quarterback-rich Seattle or Arizona in the NFC West with Case Keenum, Nick Foles or Sean Mannion atop their quarterback depth chart. In some ways, the price was the price. It’s ridiculously exorbitant, to be sure, but without a quarterback the Rams would face another season of fighting for third in a stacked division and putting off the inevitable search for a passer.

From 2004 to 2015, the Rams have had sixteen starting quarterbacks with a combined passer efficiency rating of 75.57. The Rams' record during that period is 64-127-1 (.336). Essentially, they have been the Browns for the past twelve seasons.

Good move by the Rams.

Which is a lot less than the titans and way less than the redskins. The skins saved themselves by taking another qb later with one of their precious few remaining picks
