SEC (It just means more.. even its losses are wins)

SEC conference play is underway and as I suspected shenanigans are at play.

The same Arkansas team that beat La Tech by one dropped from 20th to 17th after losing by THREE TOUCHDOWNS. I can only suppose it would have taken 9 touchdowns to knock them out of the top 25.

The same Georgia team that barely beat Nicholls stays in the top 25 after being absolutely destroyed.

Texas drops one spot for being idle while Florida only drops 4 by embarrassing themselves in the second half against Tennessee.

Bottom line, there were 8 ranked teams in the SEC last week. This week four of them lost - and seven remain ranked. Every team in the SEC with fewer than 2 losses is ranked.

The BIG has 10 teams with fewer than 2 losses and 5 are ranked.
It's ridiculous. I know the Sooners have two losses, but both of those losses come from teams ranked #2 and #6. Either Houston and OSU aren't that good or the Sooners aren't that bad. Which is it?

Yeah, probably buy him a permit and give him a pat on the back.

The report states that Williams was arrested raround 2:00 a.m. at a local Publix, after an officer smelled marijuana coming from Williams' car.

To be fair to the young man, my friends tell me when you are blazed, the chicken tender subs at Publix are absolutely electric.
Especially if you get extra pickles and a side of blue cheese. They sell Mrs. Vickies Jalapeno chips there too, FYI

Looking at SEC division standings and remaining schedules. There is a real possibility of Kentucky being the SE East champ.

Yes Kentucky.

and yes, in football

SEC East Standings:
1. UF 4-1
2. UK 4-2
3. UT 2-3

UF smoked UK 45-7 head to head

Look at the remaining schedules;
UF
@ Arkansas
vs South Carolina
@ LSU

UK
vs UGA
@ Tenessee
2 OOC games

UK could indeed win it's 2 remaining SEC games. UF could very well lose to Bert and ED.

Going even a step further, LSU controls their own destiny out west.

LSU vs UK for the SEC CCG while a 1 loss Bama sits outside the playoffs looking in as a team that didn't even win it's own division?

The Cubs just won a goddamn World Series. Please don't use the word "impossible".

Oh God please let this happen just for the copious amounts of salt that would be sure to pour in from SEC country. I suspect SEC refs won't let it happen though.

Just imagine if Harbaugh lost by 1 in Columbus and was given the 4th slot. I don't want to imagine it, but the tears down south would be remarkable.

I don't quote ESPiN, for reasons long time posters here well know. This excerpt of their coverage of the Alabama--LSU game needs to be kept for the record.

Let's be frank. Alabama faced a quality defense, of a type it might face in four B1G games but not one SEC game. It also faced an offense that is worse than 7 B1G teams and ranked outside the top 50 nationally.

Old school? Somewhere, Jim Tressel will sleep easy knowing that ESPiN has finally validated Tresselball. :roll1::paranoid:

Top-ranked Alabama flexes its defensive muscle with a shutout at No. 13 LSU.

Bama makes its point by shutting down LSU ... again

Alabama's visit to LSU on Saturday night should have been shot in black and white. It should have been captured on spools of film, developed in a darkroom and then shipped to Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge theaters to be shown between "Steamboat Willie" and newsreel updates from Normandy.

Your final score: Crimson Tide 10, Tigers 0. No, that wasn't the score at the end of the first quarter or even the half. It was indeed the final score.

"People are always saying they want old-school football," LSU's Ed Orgeron said as he looked over a one-sheet box score that had just been handed to him, mere moments after being handed his first loss in four games as interim coach. "That was as old school a game as I can remember in a while. I'm sure some will say it was ugly, but that's probably because it was just different than what they're used to these days."

Just take a look at the very day this game was played. This was one of only two contests between members of the College Football Playoff committee's top 25, and they combined for ten points. Of the 20 members of that poll who were in action on Saturday, 10 scored 40 or more points, six topped 50 and three exceeded 60. Another, 17th-ranked Baylor, scored only 20 but surrendered 62 to unranked TCU.

This is a season of spread offenses and 500-yard passers and 200-yard rushers and basketball-ish final scores of 66-59. It has been a video-game season. But while others have been playing on PS4s, the Tide and Tigers weren't even using an Atari 2600. They were playing bumper pool.

both defenses played lights out last night.

but LSU proved that Bama is definitely beatable. Other teams in this conference has had offensive success against Bama, so it can be done.

if we had anything that even remotely resembled a competent offense, we win that game. we probably shut them out if we just go on a couple drives in 2nd half that eat a little clock and only score once.

well fucking UK blew it

dumb hillbilly bastards

I think they can still win it if they beat Butch and UF loses out to South Carolina and LSU.

Anything's possible I guess but you have to be down in the 1% probability range.

Alabama would barely be .500 if they played Ohio State's schedule imo.

Am I doing it right SEC fans?
