2016 tOSU OL Discussion

That is true. He was going against a stud tho IIRC.
I don't recall that being a common asterisk then. Either way, Decker is no Prince when it comes to athleticism.

If we're talking about raw tools, Jacoby Boren was a pretty limited player. He still made everyone cry uncle on that title run (except VT). Being a Boren doesn't show up on the measurables though.

Jordan also got a big time trial by fire last night. He'll be better for it, but he showed his youth too often, and he might be the most talented OL that Urban has had (and that's saying something).
Agreed. The size and talent are obvious, but his lack of strength shows at times. He's been bullrushed 5 yards into the backfield several times. Glasgow is going to present a major problem when lined up on him.

If he's got a decent head on his shoulders he could end up an all-timer. A year in our strength program will make a world of difference.

Maybe Urban will find a decent strength and conditioning coach this offseason...

Everyone calling for Prince to be replaced must not have seen what happened to Trout, Lisle and Taylor on the blocked kicked. Those three looked like they got hit by a bus, which directly lead to the block. Beyond that you pretty much just have Bowen, who by all accounts was still a bit behind Prince all throughout camp. In the words of the late, great George Carlin, "This is the best we can do, folks." Now take a trip down memory lane, think about the sieve that was Taylor Decker his first season, and then think about the generational wealth he's currently swimming in, Scrooge McDuck style. We're going to be fine. Sometimes it just takes getting an unexpected knockout punch by the scrawny kid with the rapey uncle.
