2017-2018 B1G Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

How not good is Wisconsin this year?

They only beat Chicago State by 12

Every other power conference team they've played has beat them by at least 30. Including 60+ point losses to Northwestern and Purdue

Yeah, certainly down, but they are also out some players. Starting PG Trice and King have missed the last 4 games. With all their guys they still aren't good, but not bottom of the conference bad.

The conference is historically bad this year. Only 2 ranked teams and only 2 other teams getting any votes at all (not top 35) is by far the worst I've seen. IT probably takes 12 conference wins for most B1G teams to make the tourney (unless we win 1 of our games against MSU or Purdue, I think we would need 12). Lunardi currently only has 4 teams from the conf in the dance and one of those is in the play in game (though he does have us and MD in the "first four out").

Said this last year when he started doing some analyst work for ESPN, but Tom Crean is very very good at this TV thing. So many insights as a commentator, especially the Big Ten.

I'm probably the founding member of his hate club, but he has been impressive. Seems so much happier in his life too. Good for him.

There are so many mediocre teams in the B1G this year. Down/rebuilding years for a lot of programs at once including UW, IU, UI, OSU, and Iowa looks worse than they have ever been since McCaffery has been there. Even some of the better teams in the league this year are a step down from where they were last year. MSU and Purdue are the only teams that look legitimately solid.
