2017-2018 B1G Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

I just reviewed MSU's schedule to see if they are ever going to play another tough road game ... nope.

They literally have road games against every single frickin lousy program in the bottom half of the B1G. Each of the bottom 8 teams in the conference standings all host(ed) MSU. Every. Single. One. In fact, their game at OSU in early January will be their only true road game vs a team with any chance at the tourney the entire season. 8 of the 9 teams they play on the road aren't even on the bubble, and only 1 (MD) has a good shot at the NIT even. In a year where there is a noticeable difference in quality among the top 6 and bottom 8, this is a huge advantage for MSU.

Considering they have 14 teams, it is a good thing the B1G is moving to a 20-game slate because a team should not be able to miss road games with 4 of the top 5 teams they could possibly face in conference play.

The problem with "super" conferences in every sport. Having ten teams all play each other home and home is boring. A bunch of unbalanced schedules and some teams not even playing each other is the way to go...if $$$ is all you care about.

Northwestern lost to Rutgers a few days ago.........go figure.

If Northwestern blows this I am going to be so freaking pissed. If they hold on then Ohio State needs to win 2 out of their last 3 to claim a share of 1st place and the #1 seed.
