Mohamed Bamba's brother says the Texas 5-star freshman accepted cash and gifts

In a Facebook video, the brother of the No. 2 recruit in the nation makes some serious accusations

The older brother of Texas incoming freshman Mohamed Bamba, the nation's No. 2 recruit in the Class of 2017, posted a video on Facebook on Wednesday saying he told the NCAA the five-star prospect accepted cash and gifts from a financial adviser who doubles as a mentor.

"He's not going to play this year in the NCAA because I already reported him to the NCAA -- and I'm already going to meet with the NCAA," said Ibrahim Johnson, Bamba's brother. "He's not going to play this year. ... I exposed that kid."

You don't see a guy turn in his brother to the NCAA very often.

Looks like Holtmann has started a trend across basketball with Jallow and his recruitment of Ayala. I saw Race Thompson, a top-100 player in the class of 2018 is coming in to Indiana as a 17, and there is now a lot of talk about Marvin Bagley (#1 class of 2018) coming in to Duke as a 2017. All of this right in the middle of the summer. Stuff happening quickly! Gets some guys to the NBA quickly, plus helps out coaches (like Holtmann, Miller, and K who has done it before) who come into situations needing some immediate help.

Oh my. Jealousy is a stinky cologne.

Greer Love either...

-Has a legit pre-existing relationship with the kid.

-Played the long game to perfection.

-Covered his tracks beautifully.

Either way, I don't see much coming from this story other than a family member who bought stock in haterade.

slight difference between mohamed mamba's brother and torrence watson's brother. the former has tried to rat out his younger sibling. the latter?

A four-star 2018 prospect from Whitfield School in St. Louis, Watson chose the Buckeyes primarily over Missouri and St. Louis University. Yet, when he switched rooms with his older brother, Terrence, several years ago, he inherited one clad in scarlet and gray.

“My brother was a big Ohio State fan,” Watson told The Dispatch. “His room was Ohio State. He had some banners and stuff and an Ohio State clock and the door is Ohio State and the colors are gray and scarlet.”

Georgetown's OOC schedule makes the ones we've complained about recently look powerful.

The other four are against Syracuse (55), Richmond (92), Mount St. Mary's (209) and Jacksonville (275). So that's a non-league schedule featuring just two top-200 opponents -- not to mention zero schools that earned at-large bids to the 2017 NCAA Tournament or are projected to earn at-large bids to the 2018 NCAA Tournament. In fact, it's possible Georgetown has a non-league schedule that won't even feature a game against a 2018 NIT team.
