2017-2018 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

Kentucky sucks this year. Will be lucky to win 1 game in the NCAA tournament. No one and done NBA players on this team (but I am sure a few will leave anyway).

Will be an 8 or 9 seed will finish like 8th or 9th place in the SEC in the regular season.

Ranked #3 in the preseason was a joke.

This team is nothing like the 2014 team that was an 8 seed and made it all the way to the Championship game that team had much more talent.

Just want to reiterate that Cal is now in his ninth year in Lexington, has rosters stacked with McDonalds All-Americans and lottery picks every year, and has one title to show for it. This team probably won't get out of the 2nd round of the ncaa's...if they get there.

If you asked me who I'd rather have leading my basketball prpgram, Cal or Holtmann, I'm taking Holtmann without hesitation.

I heard the announcers making excuses for UK, saying they suck because Cal had to "settle" on second choice of one-and-dones. Instead of getting 5 of the Top 10, Cal only got 5 of the Top 20. You know, a roster that anyone else in the country would kill for.

So they are revealing the top 4 seeds in each bracket at 12:30. I feel it's pretty dumb with weeks left to play. We know all these teams are going to be in the tournament. It would be more intriguing if they did the last 8 teams in and first 8 teams out

Cal seems to recruit guys based on pro potential. He has a team that passes the airport test with flying colors, but that doesn't win you any games. Turning his program into an NBA factory has its disadvantages - you get some very selfish players and guys going through the motions knowing they won't be around much longer. He made his choices.

Someone saw the ratings for the weekly CFP rankings shows, so they decided to make selection Sunday worse in exchange for cheap pops now.

Bucknell with one of the most amazing wins I have ever seen just now against Colgate.

Bucknell down 8 points with under 25 seconds left.

Bucknell scores and gets fouled and makes the FT to cut it to 5 with 21 seconds left.

Colgate then turns it over losing it out of bounds with 18 seconds left.

Bucknell then misses gets the rebound and on the rebound the Colgate guy just grabs the Bucknell player from behind not trying for the ball and yet somehow the Foulland still puts it in to cut the lead to 3 with 11 seconds left. The refs go to the replay and call a flagrant 1. 2 FT's and the ball he makes 1 of the FT's.

Now with ball down 2 they pass the ball inside then back outside then pass around the 3 point line twice to the corner and the jumper at the buzzer by Mackenzie for 3.........swish and a most improbable win.

Look, Henry, you obviously love hoops and thats not a bad thing. But, this is BUCKEYE PLANET, you wonder why guys give you shit - and I haven't been one of them - but these crazy posts you make that are in-depth kind of, betting advos that you post are why people are riding your ass on here. That and the "we" stuff. Enjoy the games for sure, support the Bucks at every opportunity yes but for fucks sake stop with this kind of stuff in the Buckeyes basketball threads. It's too much. Kentucky-Auburn game tonight is immensely entertaining. And a bit informative.

Calipari is a much better defensive coach than offense. His teams are habitually boneheaded on O, but usually excellent on D. And Auburn is really damn good. Bryce Brown is the truth.
