Guessing some of this year's [improved but still] lackluster OOC schedule is just due to previous year's engagements/connections. I doubt the athletic department had put in a call to any team with a pulse the last 5-6 years, so there's some carryover building that back up, especially this late in the summer.

Looking forward to more high level games in the future.

Dakich is a 6-2 combo guard who has done little other than play as a healthy body for scrimmages. Don't know why he likes Ohio State so much more than UM (:banger:), but his career suggests he's not going to get significant minutes in Columbus, either. He averaged 14/5/5 in HS his junior and senior years at Zionsville IN.

Get that free year of grad school and who knows what else might happen!

I only note this because his dad Dan brought it up last year during a broadcast- the last 2 Michigan grad transfers have had their teams win the Big Ten regular season.

    Max Bielfeldt- Indiana in '15-16
    Spike Albrecht- Purdue in '16-17

He joked about shopping his son Andrew around- "Just saying if you want a win a title."

I always will have a soft spot for Dan Dakich, because he drove Ron Lewis to transfer from BG.

Andrew Dakich, not gonna lie, found him annoying at UM. Hopefully his antics on the bench will not annoy me anymore. But at least he gives them another practice body. Hopefully he is not relied on much in games, or else OSU is in big trouble.

Dude is getting roasted on facebook but he has to do what's best for him. The program he wanted didn't have space for him at Quinnipiac. I wish him luck. Lots of guys would do the same.

I don't doubt the move makes sense for both parties. OSU was not going to find much to add to the team for this season at this time, had 4 spots open, they weren't going to fill all of them with better players, & needed practice bodies at least. Dakich goes into a situation where he could see the court some and he is still in the B1G. And presumably OSU has the graduate degree he wants to start. I don't think it is nearly as big a deal as it would be in football.

Looks like Holtmann is getting actual players and is not going to be doing much (if any) recruiting from the student body to fill out the roster. Good for him.

OSU is going to play UM, IU, Rutgers, PSU and Iowa twice apiece this year. All others 1 time only.
