2017-2018 Ohio State Men's Basketball (24-7, 15-3, #2 Seed in B1G Tourney)

I really believe this team is two serviceable guys on the bench from being pretty decent. They run out of gas in the second half and I attribute that to not enough bench to keep them fresh. The shooting has been awesome to be honest, didnt see that happening before. Hopefully we can get a healthy Potter back soon and put some more pressure on other teams

So we play the three toughest teams in the B1G only once: MSU, Purdue, Minn. That's crazy. Although it might not be good for this team if it finds itself on the bubble. Not much room to get a big win on the resume at this point

Not exactly how I saw the Wins/Losses playing out but 3-3 over this last week+ seems pretty damn good to me.

This team and coaching staff has probably barely had time to practice/implement much, but they come out and start 2-0 in conference so there's hard work happening. I'm excited at what they come out with after debriefing, breaking down film and getting some rest.

Why did the Big Ten decide we need to play two conference games in early December then follow it with 5 non conference games?

Good question. They are already playing around New Years, so that means they probably would have to have had games right around Christmas if they just wanted to have a continuous season, I'm guessing there were people that preferred to let everyone have a chance to be home for Xmas. So why not the week before that? I think they picked this particular time because it is possibly the last week that school is still in session some places.

Just not a very good team right now, but there's hope for next season. With the B1G having so much suckitude this season, 6 conference wins isn't out of the question.
Had to quote this post because it is exactly how I felt last Thursday.

Now I am in love with this team and our new coach.

Gimme more Kyle Young please.

Only need 4 more B1G wins to get those 6.

There you go Nike. Good looking home jerseys and your logo prominently displayed. Can we shelve the PK80 outfits for good? This is a good looking Buckeye uniform.

Our B1G 10 schedule is very favorable this year. As long as they avoid that bad OOC loss to one of the schlubs we have left, these guys could have a chance to make the dance

I agree we have a chance to make the NCAA tourney, but not sure the weakish B1G schedule is going to be much of a benefit as it won't give us many opportunities for good wins. Right now, I'd say there are 4 B1G teams that I think are likely to make the NCAA tourney and we play each of them only once (MSU, MN, Purdue, MD). If we finish 9-4 ooc (lose to UNC, beat the others), then I think it would take at least an 11-7 record to make the dance.

Yea there's not a lot of chances for "great" wins. That's for sure. 11-7 would definitely get them in though. 10-8 would have them at least decently considered, would depend on how the rest of the bubble looked at the end of the year. Upsetting UNC or Sparty would greatly increase that chance.

Minnesota just lost to Nebraska last night. It's looking like that kind of year in conference play so i'm not even going to try to predict things right now.

Maryland isn't that good though, I don't think. If they are the #4 team in the B1G the B1G is really bad. They lost to St Bonaventure. Needed a huge 2nd half comeback to beat Bucknell and needed OT to beat a terrible Illinois team.

Well, the main thing is that this team keeps improving. I've loved what I've seen from Tate the last few games, and KBD has been the steady hand all season. They look, at times, like a solid Buckeye team that will represent themselves well in the tourney. Potter was really coming along this year, it seems, so getting him back for the remaining games, along with the development of Kaleb Wesson, will go a long way. I would be more confident in their position if they had beaten Butler, but these first two B1G games have really opened our eyes, I think.
