I ended up going to the game at the last minute. I have two observations. First, it's nice to see that the team can step up when Bates-Diop is cold. On the other hand, ball handling is this team's Achilles Heel and will be its undoing in the NCAAs.

Also, the RPI predictor had this game as a loss, so there's that. The win bumped us up to 19, and also flipped a couple of predicted losses into wins. Right now, our only predicted losses are: @Purdue, @Michigan and @IU.

Okey dokey. Move me officially from the "cautiously optimistic" camp to the "really damned excited" camp. I never, ever would have expected this. I've already watched at least twice as many games this year as I did last. Ho1tman has done an unbelievable job.

Loss to scUM aside, if you were to tell me that the RPI predicted those to be losses in September and I had a choice, I wouldn't bother watching probably.

Now, with how the team has performed and grown, I'm going to watch every one I can....the only one I would think is unwinnable is @Purdue, and even that one might be fun if KBD is going off because Purdue will have to run smaller guys at him and he'll be able to shoot over them...

I've decided that OSU should always play top-5 teams when they're not familiar with how to make baskets. It worked out very well against Sparty.

Wow, that is pretty telling about how mediocre this program has been the past 5-6 yrs. Good to see it's on it's way back.

It is a little misleading because they were great in 2012 and 2013 in spite of winning fewer games, but after that the steady decline was very noticeable. A turn-around was inevitable at some point with 17 wins being the bar and the B1G bring as mediocre as it is, but it has been a perfect storm kind of year so far.

I'm very interested to see how OSU comes back on a super short turnaround, they played today in NYC and then have to fly home and play a decent Nebraska team the day after tomorrow. Nebraska last played Thursday.
