2017 tOSU Defense Discussion

Borland was big because we couldn't find 3 lbs to play..used a DB instead .,concerned when we face power running teams. Baker appears he just wants to rush the passer instead of playing LB.
The decision to play two LBs wasn't because we "couldn't find 3." Schiano used 4-2-5s against service academies consistently in the past, and he was repeating the strategy yesterday.

I'd also caution everyone that, though Borland was an absolute beast against Army, his particular set of strengths and weaknesses may or may not work well against, say, Penn State or Clemson.

I don't want to even think about what Clemson would do to this team.

Sad to say but true; Dabo has actually gone and built what we thought Urban was going to build.

I thought Borland was moving very well and while I hope Worely is fine there's something to be said for just knowing your assignment and staying disciplined. Borland was never out of position and never bit with all the window dressing that Army threw at us.

I hope we give him a shot because I miss Worely on the outside to be honest

Live Updates from the Urban Meyer Call-In Show — Sept. 21

+ The depth at linebacker is getting better. The young guys are coming along. Justin Hilliard is playing really hard. “He’s all over the place on the kicking game.” Baron Browning and Pete Werner are stars in the making if they keep growing.

+ Chris Worley is still questionable. It’s a sprained foot. Non-structural. Will know more today and tomorrow.

Re-watching the UNLV game

from the t.v. perspective (so forgive me if it's not 100% accurate) it damn sure looks like UNLV target Sheffield 4 times on the first two drives for 2 completions and 2 penalties

that obviously needs to improve

PRESSER BULLETS: URBAN MEYER PRAISES OHIO STATE'S PERFORMANCES AGAINST UNLV, PROVIDES INJURY UPDATE
  • Some of the pass interference calls in Saturday's game were "questionable," but Ohio State's defensive backs need to fix their technique in order to avoid those penalties.
