Wasn't a live ball. Why go after it?

Once the kicking team touches it the receiving team can go after it risk free until it's downed. Dwayne Harris returned one 99 yards Monday night on a similar play (even if he fumbles it, the ball goes back to where it's touched). Nothing to lose.

In this case, Minny would've gained about 10 yards, but I'm not sure the Gopher knew exactly who touched it (or knew the rule).

Always curious as to why they call it illegal touching...
