scUM's defense is ridiculous. They were a good defensive team towards the end of last season, they're even better now. That assistant coach they hired to coach up their D and then guys like Simpson and Matthews have made a world of difference (but kind of funny that now it's their shooting which sucks). This ain't your older brother's scUM team.

IU is legit. Nebraska is legit. And we only get to play all 3 of those teams on the road!

It's going to be a tough conference season.

I'm thinking the "down years of Big Ten basketball" are over (after about one year, actually).

Lots of good teams in this league in 2018-19. Should be a fun ride.

I will wait til after the ACC challenge to make any sweeping judgment. Lots of teams in the B1G haven't been tested or proven themselves necessarily. At this point, by far the vast majority of the league doesnt have a win over a likely NCAA tourney team.

True. Reality may smack them when the Challenge comes around.

Hey, you're not talking about our boys, right? I get that 11W might be biased, but...

Id say Cincy probably makes it. Creighton more of a NIT looking team. But a OOC road win against them will still looks better than squashing some under .500 low major at home in the end.

Iowa with a pretty dominant win over a 13th-ranked Oregon.

Is it too early to say how good the conference is? Yes, of course. But, still, you've got 8-9 teams who are looking really solid so far, and the rest aren't looking bad, either.

Iowa looking likely to beat UConn tonight, on the heels of that Oregon win. I dont know how much to take out of wins vs two very unproven and embryonic teams. I do believe Iowa looks a bit better than last year. McCaffery's son does a good job of passing, Garza looks much improved, and their depth looks better also.

Honestly I would go opposite. I thought Cincy is the worse team of the two. I feel like tourney bids are going to be sparse in the AAC this year, the Big East not much better but definitely the easier league to build a tourney resume in.

Iowa and Purdue both looked pretty dominant tonight. Purdue doesn't seem to be missing last year's seniors much, the way Cline and Eastern are playing to go with Edward being All-American level.

B1G is crushin' it so far.

I think Iowa looks really good. Oregon and UConn both handled Cuse (preemptively devaluing our game with Cuse, which is a bummer) and both teams were undefeated until Iowa steamrolled both of them.
