2018-2019 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

Considering seeding is your lifes work. Congratulations

HA!

I nailed Ohio State exactly though they were 41 overall which happened to be barely the team not in Dayton. Belmont was 42 and they were 1st team in Dayton.

It sucks that Oregon won because not only did that push Belmont into Dayton it pushed UNCG out of the tournament I would have loved to seen them make the dance. They were first team out.

3 ACC teams got a #1 seed.

Three.

Not only did they get 3 #1 seeds they got the top 3 number one seeds. Kentucky beat North Carolina this year and both had same record both lost in semi finals vs a high ranking team but North Carolina was ranked 3rd overall and Kentucky 7th. It is kind of stupid that Duke was #1 overall and North Carolina #3 overall. This tells me that the committee felt that Duke was so good all losses without Zion did not count but at the same time North Carolina you get full credit for your 2 wins over Zionless Duke team. It should only be 1 or the other that is how they got 3 #1 seeds. If Duke beats them 3 times with Zion North Carolina is a 2 seed.

They also said who cares about balancing the bracket.

1-Duke vs 6 MSU
2-Virginia vs 5 Tennessee
3-North Carolina vs 7 Kentucky
4- Gonzaga vs 8 Michigan

They are supposed to balance that out MSU and Michigan should been swapped and Tenn/Kentucky should been swapped to balance.

Phil Martelli fired by St Joe's after 35 years.

Bout time. I don’t know much about the guy other than there is no way he was ever successful enough to stay for 24 years. Have I ever heard of any anything of note from your program? No? Maybe one season? You ain’t THAT good.

Edit: if anyone wants to see how badly I butchered this post, check it quoted below.

Lol Jesus. Maybe some programs have realistic expectations.

No I get not expecting too much but 24 years is a loooong time to coach in one place. Almost unheard of in modern times. Seven tournaments in 24 years isn’t keep-a-job-for-24-years-territory, I didn’t think. Knowing you aren’t Duke and trying to take steps forward are two different things. Does Mike Brown own St Joesph’s?
