2018-2019 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

can't help but chuckle that a program with bel-air country club immediately to the north, lacc to the east, and brentwood to the west finds $8 million to be an impediment. i bet there are at least 50 homes within a mile of the campus that are currently for sale for at least $8 million... and many times that that are not for sale. the wealth concentrated around ucla is absurd. obviously, few of the surrounding home owners have much interest in ucla athletics, but it's funny nonetheless.

I see Nate Sestina is transferring from Bucknell to UK. Not sure what the expectation is for him there. He is a good offensive player, but I feel like that is not a very good fit overall. UK under Cal is always a very good defensive team, and I don't think he is up to par with the rest of their team in that area.

One grad transfer to watch is Max Hazzard. He was a lights-out shooter for UC Irvine and is looking to go high major for his last season in college. The only B1G school linked with him as a possibility this far is Northwestern.

NCAA proposal: penalize schools by docking them a scholarship for a year each time a grad transfer doesn't actually get a degree at the school they transfer to. :smash:

This is a rule that was intended to be a reward to players for academic success, how that could ultimately cost other players scholarships for no fault of their own is perverse.

I'll be attending the final game of the CBI championship tomorrow night as DePaul is hosting USF in the last game of the best-of-3 series. If you watch and they show somebody in Buckeye gear in the crowd...

I wouldn't know since I don't get ESPNU.
First 2 games have been highly entertaining. I’ll be tuning in. Not to see you.
