Just browsing around Bucknuts which lists the top 25 all time recruits for OSU based on their rankings. Nobody on the current roster is on that list (although Luther comes close).

All three of next years recruits are in the top 19.

I am really excited about this years team particularly after last night. But with everyone we could bring back next year - wow.

I do not know how far Bucknuts went back in their rankings but even Eldon Miller brought in some pretty highly ranked players not to mention the classes (players) that Williams and Thad brought in. It is sort of surprises me that Muhammed is close to one of the top 25 recruits because over the years we have had some pretty good basketball recruits.
That surprises me but again I guess it all depends on how far back they went with their rankings.
While I also cannot wait until next year when we bring in a pretty solid class of recruits the one thing that is going to hinder the development of this program is the lack of a "big" man to backup or share minutes with Kaleb offensively. This year's excites me on the defensive side of the court but not so much on the offensive side. However, their hustle should excite anyone.

I think it goes back to 2004. Jamar Butler & Matt Terwilliger are the oldest on their list.

So I guess I don't need to visit Bucknuts and look for Havlicek, Lucas, Siegfried and Robin Freeman.

Of course, I praised the team’s rebounding in the first half then I see they gave up 20 offensive boards. Not sure you ever win games doing that, but the Buckeyes did.

But...I still don’t think my eyes decieved me. The undersized Bucks rebound and give crazy effort on the glass. It wasn’t for a lack of trying. Half of Cronin’s offense is missing jump shots and flying to the boards. He definitely emphasized that at half time and his team got after it, so some credit to the Bearcats. Also, kWesson in foul trouble caused problems.

Finally, 2 offensive boards were directly on Kyle Young when he then busted his ass to prevent a 3rd on one possession. Another 2 were bad tipped out of bounds calls under the hoop, I think.

It’s a problem, will likely continue to be a problem, but there’s signs they can overcome it. It’s a mean team.

It was actually 3 bad tip OOB calls. Washington was called when it was actually a UC tip out also. 3 offensive rebounds on bad calls. 17 is still a lot, but keep in mind UC also shot terribly and there were a ton of rebounds to be had. Overall, I think it is safe to say OSU is not going to be a dominant defensive rebounding team this year.

OSU is clearly deeper at guard compared with last year. They did not skip a beat in terms of production or talent with CJ on the bench. I feel that the 8 guys that played yesterday all deserved to play and there really weren't any weak links. I am feeling optimistic about this team's chances of making the tourney.

Anyone think this team could be better than last year? Doesn't feel like they're as dependent on a dominant scorer like KBD and, to a lesser extent, Tate for points plus the defense actually looks better.

There are a couple areas (team perimeter D, bench talent) where they are a bit better this year. I dont know if they are better overall, but it will be fun to see it all play out.

Just think guys. I know it's probably not the best team but they just outscored a team by 39 point.... in a half... That's a hell of an offensive spurt with some great D to boot

I’m not on that level yet. Top of Big Ten is really good- MSU, IU.

Are they, though? You think there is a B1G team that is definitely getting past the Sweet 16 this season? I am not seeing any powerhouses just yet.
