2018-2019 Ohio State Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

This season was quite the disappointing ride. We started off beating Cincinnati on the road. Cincinnati would go on to lose only 4 more times the rest of the year, is currently ranked #20 and playing for the American Championship right now.

We started the season unranked, peaked at #13 in the county on December 28 and now we may miss the tournament.

Well this is pretty simple now.

Either beat Wisconsin today at home or beat Indiana in the first Big Ten tournament game or it's NIT this year and sadly if Indiana beats Ohio State Indiana is going to dancing.

When Ohio State beat Indiana I thought that was it Ohio State was going to be in and Indiana was going to be out that day........who could have known what was to lie ahead.

That said how I 16-15 Texas in the field ? I hate rooting for Kansas but I sure will when they play Texas if they are 16-16 I mean come on. How the hell is Texas not only in but not even in Dayton ? Florida in as well...………

NC State has played no one has non conf SOS of 352 they should not be in. Clemson plays NC State.

Indiana sitting right behind Ohio State so uh ya need to win that game.

Was 1 shot away from clinching a berth............tie game should have drove the ball. I know CJ has hit those last second 3's before but it really isn't a good % shot especially contested.

Frustrating to piss entire season away on 1 play.

Morons on 11Warriors saying this is a national title contender NEXT year....slow down the hype.

This year isn't over yet (I think they're in) and we don't quite know how the new freshmen plus veterans will mesh.

I do think they have a legit shot at the B1G title next year, but going from what is there right now, adding some unknowns (they may be talented unknowns, but they are still unknowns) into the mix and claiming national title worthiness seems to be a bit of a stretch to me.

WTF those people are complaining about how bad this team sucks and we have no shot at going to the tournament yet they think we are competing for a national title next year?

Man I wouldn't even say that about a team getting Greg Oden, Mike Conley, David Lighty, and Daquan Cook, let alone a couple of talented but not-one-and-done players. If Holtmann got this team to the NC, you might as well build him a statue outside of the Schott right now. I think we'll make some noise in the B1G and probably get to the Sweet 16 depending on our seeding, but expectations like that are just setting yourself up for a meltdown.

edit: games against good opponents over last two seasons:

uva (2019) - 4 points (1/6 overall)
marshall (2018) - 12 points (4/8)
osu (2018) - 4 points (2/8)
tcu (2018) - 7 points (3/12)

meh. flashy highlight real, but he hasn't exactly produced against quality teams. if he were instead a big, then maybe. but his competition for playing time would most notably include senior andre, junior jallow, a promising ahrens, and the monster liddell.

i highly doubt he'll entertain our interest since the competition for playing time at osu should be considerable. what it tells me more than anything, though, is that the staff will not only be looking at grad transfer post players (at least that's what i'm assuming) but also wings.
