2018 NCAA Basketball Tournament Discussion (Official Thread)

per the bracket matrix, bottom two 5-seeds and top two 6-seeds:

kentucky (4.85)
ohio state (5.46)
-
houston (5.57)
florida (6.02)


when the selection committee released the preliminary top 4 seeds a month ago, osu was 14th on the s-curve. this was the sunday following the win at purdue. monday's ap poll, on the other hand, had us quite a bit higher at 8th.

i don't think we're going to be a 5-seed -- that is, unless the committee gives us a 5 because of logistics, conference affiliations, and whatnot. houston's performance so far only increases the probability that they'll move up a seed.


current 11-seeds per the bracket matrix:

ucla
oklahoma
texas
st. mary's
loyola-chicago (automatic)
new mexico state (automatic)

current 3-seeds per the bracket matrix:

tennessee
michigan state
m*ch*gan

I don't even believe in doing brackets anymore. I hate going on social media and people bragging about picking a team even though they have watched no basketball this year "Dude I picked Loyola in my bracket, this is sick!" shut up

i'm sure people will start caring about their bp brackets once the brackets are released.

not sure i exactly follow here, though. were you expecting the bracket contest thread to be the tournament discussion thread? i think there has a been a thread for each every year.

you do know that you're not required to visit social media sites, don't you? pretty sure a person can exist without facebook and twitter if they so choose to.

I'm sure I won't care about anyone else's brackets even after the tournament starts, but if I did I'd check the bracket thread or contest site.

There's nothing more exciting than checking the game discussion here and getting continuous bracket updates from a few people. :slappy:
