2018 NCAA Basketball Tournament Discussion (Official Thread)

Winnable bracket for Bucks. I’m not saying they will, but I don’t think it’s one of the stronger overall brackets. I was praying when I saw WVU announced as the 5 in SD that OSU wasn’t the 4
Xavier is about the only favorable thing in our bracket. A Gonzaga and UNC team that thrashed us earlier plus a hot TTUN team. SDSU a difficult 12.

Oh well, I'll be happy if we can just beat SDSU. We never know what can happen maybe all the top seeds in our bracket will lose before they play us

Dookie V makes a good point about Oklahoma State being out. Wins at Oklahoma, at Kansas, at WVU - 5 and 1 overall against those teams. Got a win over Florida State, too.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma lost 11 of their last 15 games and haven't won an away game in 2018.

I think the bracket looks pretty tough to me. UNC, Xavier, TSUN, Gonzaga. All peaking now. Depends on what Coach has done to get them healthy and their game faces back on.

They are going to have to give their best hustle out the blocks on D and have their legs under them to get the offensive efficiency back to the midseason run level. It's all gravy, so I hope they go out and have some fun.

Congrats to the Buckeyes on their surprise season. Let's hope they get back to mid-season form.

I feel awful for Middle Tennessee State and St. Mary's, and to a lesser extent USC. Is Trae Young that important to ratings that you let in a team that can't win anymore?

And how the HELL is Syracuse in?

I really don't like the "we don't care about how teams finish the season" criteria and the way the Quadrant system is set up and over-reliant on RPI, so I figured this would be ugly and stupid stuff like Oklahoma getting in would happen, but this is worse than I expected.

Every Selection Sunday there's a few head-scratchers, but this time there's like 6 head-scratchers and 2 or 3 outright WTFs.

I don't ever want to be on the bubble now, I'd be sweating Selection Sunday hard if it's going to be this arbitrary and bad. Some of these fanbases have to be PISSED. I can't imagine what it's like for 12-6 in the PAC USC watching 8-10 ASU get in.

SEC has never had more than 6 bids, until today. They got 8.

Someone said these days the committee loves mediocrity from big conferences over lots of wins in smaller conferences. Given the number of teams in the field with less than 20 wins and more than 12 losses, this seems to be the case.

I'm seeing a lot of predictions of MSU winning the title. Also seeing a lot of Gonzaga/TTUN in Elite eight.

MSU looks like a team that should win the title but they've been so underwhelming in big games. They beat UNC big early in the season then beat Purdue at home on a buzzer beater. They have the talent to win every game but they are also liable to getting beat at least in the Sweet 16.

Gonzaga making a lot of Elite Eight predictions shows the respect people have for them. They beat us badly early. I don't think there is anything good we can say about that potential matchup
