Tried to get tickets through the alumni ticket sale just now, and was only able to get seats for Minnesota, Rutgers and Oregon St. in C deck, on the corners, in rows 30+.

Pass.

It was a real hassle. The window opened 3 minutes late, my first several choices resulted in a long wait (5-6 minutes) and being told some other fan got them, etc. Then the site suggested some other seats, I agreed, another long wait and then being told another fan got them. It looked like an endless loop. I went around 4 or 5 times. It took over 30 minutes, but I finally did manage to get Nebraska seats (8C row 10) for my son-in-law.

Ticketmaster SUCKS.

I had same issue. Very frustrating. The last few years I had no trouble, don't know why this year was so bad

Yes, my experience was the same. It's not like I logged on 40 minutes after 10:00 a.m. and was only able to secure Minnesota, Rutgers and Oregon St. in C deck, on the corners, in rows 30+; rather, I was only able to secure those tickets even though I started trying right at 10:00 a.m.

The alumni sale yielding those kind of results is bound to correlate with a drop in the alumni association membership.

Yeah, I agree. Got Michigan tickets in rather poor seats and 4 for Oregon State....

I used to buy alumni tickets every year, back when you were offered a particular game and you just had to decide if you wanted them.

Given the free-for-all nature of the process now, and the prices, I no longer bother. If I decide to spend the money and make the trip, I'll find tickets. That's never been a problem.

I liked that approach better as well. It had some downfalls, for sure--mainly, you had no idea where in the stadium your seats would be (which plays a big role in how much I'll spend)--so you really just had to decide if the game you were assigned was worth the ticket price assuming you had the worst seats in the Shoe. Still preferable to what happened yesterday, in my view.

How do you get the social presale?

FWIW, They use to have a policy that OSU alumni club members that buy individual game tickets for 15 consectutive years could then buy season tickets if they wanted. This would then continue as long as you buy season tickets each year. They dropped that option for new alumni several years ago; however, those already doing it became "grandfathered in" to continue to be able to buy season tickets. Us alumni season ticket holders got an email with a unique (individual) access code allowing us to purchase up to two tickets for one premier or Big Ten game, and four tickets to one non-conference/non-premier game, based on availability. Our window to buy opened up 26 Jun 2018 @ 10:00 AM. Apparently there was a "Varsity O" presale before the presale that I bought a game in. Also, I have no idea what the "social presale" is and/or who is eligible.

Edit: I did find this on the Ticketmaster site. Who knew they had that many presales?
