2018 tOSU Defense Discussion

Exactly what I have been saying. All coaching. Piss Poor.

Boren saying the same thing too. Scheme is absolute full on hot garbage bullshit.

I have to believe as I said earlier, Harrison cannot be that damn bad, he has to be being coached to fill a certain gap when the Dline is moving, has to be. If he is that bad then get him the fuck out, but I am pretty sure he is doing what he has been told to do. I have seen this stupidity before from coaches and it doesn't work. It is straight up junk shit defense and these fucktards that believe their cutesy slant and everyone has a "gap" shit never works. Might look good on paper, never fucking works on the field.

Issue with what we do (slanting, up close, blitzing) is if we guess wrong it's a house call. We guess wrong a lot.

It's all scheme. I fail to think LBs that all have freakish talent can be this bad. I also fail to believe that everyone else teaches their DBs to turn around but we don't. Someone's wrong and it's either OSU or the rest of football.

Ok so better performance today... especially from the LBs but I'd like to mention 1 thing.

We have got to put Wade/Okudah at corner and roll with them permanently. Enough of the rotation because Arnette/Sheffield are killing us.

Before the game I told my scUM buddy two things. Throw at #3 when you are behind the sticks because he always holds/PIs. Then you can throw at #8 inside the 40 because he will never turn around.

I thought the entire defense played well minus those two. I feel bad saying it because I know they're trying but dang those two are struggling.

Makes me worried for next year because this is pretty much who they are at this point.

Sheffield was ok. His PI where he was in perfect position and the WR held his arm was a joke and Klatt disappointed me by arguing that was a good call.

Sheffield was not good today... gave up a few TDs when all he had to do was knock the ball away.

He's always right there to make a play but he just never does.

I know we like to keep players fresh but I'd love to see how it'd workout playing 24/1 more.

Knuckle deep into the replay so far. Where was this discipline from the backers throughout the season? I'm actually seeing proper alignments along the defensive front with consistency, gap integrity, vision, lateral and downhill pursuit.

No way the light just "goes on" in a week. There was a true come to Jesus moment after last Saturday for this coaching staff and the players. Again I won't say they've turned the corner, but watching the early parts of this replay and you can see the flashes of potential.

Cannot rule out the fact that Harbaugh's offense hasn't evolved in 15 years as a contributing factor. I need to see OSU do this against somebody else. Northwestern would be a good start.
