Yes, college football is, thankfully, back.

Tomorrow starts the first slate of games (I guess?). It's something, it's better than nothing and I think we all need this.

This reads like a Friday 5pm news dump

"Met a girl in Vegas" and "still talk to her mom" just don't go together in the same sentence if by "Vegas" you mean Las Vegas Nevada U.S.A.

Yeah, I dropped that pretty casually. Full story:

Was due to fly back Sunday after a 3 night bender in the City of Sin. It was an afternoon flight so I decided to make the wise/unwise decision to check out the pool before taking off. Happen into a group of ladies I had met at the hotel the night before- the Wyoming girl, a couple cousins and her mom and aunts- all celebrating something (birthday?). Well, as Vegas pools go, music and beer kept flowing and 12pm turned into 1pm into 2pm and eventually me cancelling my flight and switching to the last seat available on a flight the next day. Texted the buddies I wasn't meeting them at the airport, made the announcement to my new friends and Day 4 of Vegas was on.

Spent the rest of the day and night having drinks and dinner with this random group, then spent the later evening with the Wyoming nursing student.

I actually stayed in contact and got invited up to a family get together in Grand Rapids the next year. The mom loves me. I've remained in some contact with both the last 1-2 years.

And that is how I became a Wyoming Cowboys fan.
