USC needs to find someone to take the good parts from the Pete Carroll model...bring energy to and build excitement around the program. This Helton guy was a puzzling hire from the start.

Amazing to me that people aren't more successful at either spot.
Seems like a good coach should just kill it at those places. So many built in advantages.

I always scoff at the buyout excuse in the SEC or at any major program. If there’s a foul situation festering, the money can and will be raised.
