2019-2020 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

#13 Memphis wins at #19 tenn 51-47 without wiseman... nice W
i'm relieved to see memphis win. i hope they dominate the american. otherwise, if osu happens to get a 1-seed, memphis totally looks like a kentuckian type team that the committee puts in osu's region as a 4/5.

yes, i'm clearly looking way, way ahead. and i'm clearly jaded.

A win against UK could move us to #1

If Ohio State beats Minnesota tomorrow then Ohio State should be #1. It's bogus Kansas with a loss is #1 over Ohio State when Ohio State has 25 point wins vs Villanova, Penn State and a road one over North Carolina.

I have to say I am not looking forward to the Kentucky game. One team has to lose. I prefer all wins for my teams.

i bet calipari would have more than 1 championship in his 12 years at kentucky and memphis if he actually recruited shooters. only twice has he had a team that averaged over 37% behind the arc. one of those two teams was the champion. six teams shot below 35%. three more shot barely over 35%. this year's team shoots a horrible 29% and will almost certainly finish below 35%. as such, i think their potential is capped at a final four run.

Advanced metrics suggest they may not objectively be great, but Bobby Hurley's Arizona State squad is fun as fuck to watch. Not much D, but man, can they finish at the hoop.

Edit: their best player is named, no shit, Remy Martin.

Edit 2: yes, Mickey Mitchell is on this team. Why they would want him remains a mystery.
