2019 B1G Baseball Tourney @ Omaha, NB (10th B1G Tournament Win for tOSU)

WATCH: Iowa fan steals foul ball from young Ohio State fan

Rivals have been going head-to-head all weekend at the Big Ten Baseball Tournament in Omaha, Neb. this weekend. On Sunday, things heated up a little off the field too.

During Sunday's championship game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers, a ball was fouled off into the stands. When it landed in an empty row of seats, there was a mad dash for the loose souvenir. Barely winning the race was an adult fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, who got to the ball a split second before a young fan of the Buckeyes. Unfortunately for the Iowa fan, all of it was captured on the replay, and social media wasn't to him for not giving the ball to the child.

"Theres a LOT of types of guys u dont wanna be......and being this guy is easily the WORST. Find. Him," tweeted Tony X, who tweeted out the video.

"I don't know how grown men get that excited for a ball, especially at a college game," one user said.

What motivates these human paraquat? Every time I'm at a Cubs fan I tell myself if I catch a foul ball or homer that I'll give it to a nearby kid, unless it's an opposing team's home run ball of course in which case it's going back onto the field. There are rules.

In any event, congrats to the team. I watched both games on-and-off, and that was a real gutty performance.

OK, fulfilling my role as grumpy old man... happy for the team, but this is what pisses me off about post-season playoffs, teams that had mediocre seasons get an opportunity to win a shoot out and go on to the big show. Imagine how shitty it would have been if Northwestern had upset the Bucks in a meaningless CCG in Indy. I know, but they didn't, but what if?

Generally agree but the only teams who get bumped when an AQ spot gets taken is a team who's regular season was only just good enough to put them on the bubble.

A great regular season in basketball or baseball isn't going to be for nothing should you lose your conference tourney.

Bubble teams and mid majors pay the price for runs like the one OSU baseball just had.

I cannot say that I watched much Ohio State baseball this year but I did watch our win over scum, Minnesota, and Nebraska and thoroughly enjoyed all 3 games. Watching college baseball is more enjoyable than watching those asshats who get paid to do something they supposedly love.

I questioned Beals more than once during the 3 games that I watched so I guess he might know more about the game than myself but still not sure about the guy. He has probably bought himself a few more years as the Ohio State baseball coach and I have not sure if that is a good thing or not.

Having said that, Props to all of the players for hanging in there all season and winning the Big Ten tournament:groove:

Another Buckeye squad coming from nowhere to win the whole dang thing. Good news is that this team is going to the playoffs, bad news is that apparently Beals will be kept for another year.....not good pub to say "congrats on winning the B10, you're canned". Wonder why these kids underperformed all year? Well, Indiana won the B10 going away, and dropped their first two in this playoff, so who knows. Baseball is a weird sport, ya gotta be loose, not tense, and the ball behaves or not. Two saves all year, and out kid throws two more in one day? Who woulda/coulda predicted that. All that aside, congrats to the diamond Bucks, and here's hoping you guys drive deep to Omaha. Go Bucks!

Well if I were a college baseball coach and my team had a very high RPI and were guaranteed a pretty high seed in the NCAA tournament,, I might think about throwing my third or fourth starter in my conference tournament because what the hell and winning the NCAA would mean a great deal more than winning a conference tournament IMO

I wonder what Mr. Baseball @brodybuck21 thinks about this and Ohio State under performing all season under Beals
